Wayward Pines "A Reckoning" S01E09 7/16/15 *spoilers*

I think this was the best episode yet. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I don't usually like the in media res storytelling device, but I think it worked pretty well here.

I was a little confused by the teacher's reaction at the reckoning. Shouldn't she be happy for everyone to know the truth? Or was she more caught up in the power trip of having more information than everyone else and now she's pissed because she's on equal footing now?

When they were watching the videos in the basement, the one video we saw was from Adam Hassler, Kate and Ethan's former boss, and he said it was the year 4020. I guess that means he was either a Pilcher volunteer or a member of Group A who escaped from WP. Either way, how did the video get back to WP? And Ethan's wife said that there were hundreds of other similar videos from people all over the country. Does that mean other groups were sent out from WP to scout for survivors? Does that mean there were other pockets of humans that survived past the year 4000 and these videos were from some of them? Does that mean the videos came from the remnants of humans before they became extinct?

That scene with the recent graduate in the sheriff's station was pretty brutal. If that's the kind of world the school is preparing the kids to lead, then maybe it would be best for humanity to just die out.

So Pilcher really is such a control freak that if he can't have things his way, he's just going to shut off all the electricity and let the people die? Is he hoping to just start over again with a Group C? Why would he turn of the fence and let the Abbys come in? If he's planning to start over by thawing out a new group, then it doesn't make sense to let the Abbys come into the town and destroy everything, because resources have got to be limited and having to repair everything would be pointless if you can prevent it.
