Hello -- I'm trying to connect my Bolt to a MoCA network (it's not practical to connect my Bolt via Ethernet). The ultimate goal is to connect a Tivo Mini on another floor of my house via the MoCA network. Toward that end, I purchased an ActionTec ECB6000 MoCA Adapter and installed it by my modem/router.
I have coax running to a splitter (this is the splitter: StarburstSB-2WMS-2.02-way-horizontal-MOCA-splitter). From the splitter, coax runs (1) to the modem/router & (2) to the ECB6000. Separately, I have an Ethernet cord running from the ECB6000 to the modem/router.
------------------------
I'm pretty sure the Bolt is connecting to the ECB6000, but for some reason I can't get Internet. Reasons why I suspect this is the case:
(A) If I try to connect the Bolt to the MoCA network without the ECB6000 turned on, I receive a C33 error.
(B) If I power on the ECB6000 while the Bolt is connected to via WiFi (WiFi works great, incidentally, and I'd just stick with that, were I not trying to get a Mini working), only the Power LED is lit, while the Coax LED stays dark.
(C) If I connect the Bolt to the MoCA network when the ECB6000 is turned on, I receive the N02 error, and the Coax LED on the ECB6000 lights up.
(D) If I go through with (C), the 'MoCA channel' setting on the Bolt changes from 'Auto' to '15'.
------------------------
Not sure if my logic is sound, but it sure seems to me that the Bolt and the ECB6000 are talking. I'm just not able to get Internet to the Bolt via MoCA for some reason.
Do any of you have any suggestions? I've tried this every which way I can think of, and I'm not getting anywhere. Might my modem/router be incompatible (it's a Motorola Surfboard SBG6580)? Is there a setting on the modem/router that I should adjust? I'm banging my head against the wall at this point!
Thanks, and please let me know if I can supply any further details.
