It seems like the writers have put in a lot of effort to make the characters more likable. Last season I was feeling down on everybody (including Donna), but they've done a reboot on tone. Donna and Cameron seem to be working together for the most part. Gordon is a lot more amusing and human.
The only weird tangent left is Joe, an arc gimping along like they accidentally signed Lee Pace on for too many seasons without realizing they didn't have a way to integrate him into the Mutiny story. I'm curious to see if this ever goes anywhere.
