No disc space-"limit reached" problem

About the same time as the "to be announced" guide problem, a few days ago, I started getting "limit reached", when I tried to record various programs. I looked in "System Information", and it said that I had no free disc space. I deleted several hours of programs, and it still said the same thing. I tried a restart, and also unplug from electric, but still no free space. Could the guide update(which I fixed) have caused this problem? What can I do? On live recordings, I get "not enough space.
