Hey there Tivo folks,
It's been a while. Last login says it was early 2013! However that is because I've become a cord cutter and have since left the TiVo platform. As much as I love Tivo, between cable TV costs and subscription costs, it just got to be too much. (and OTA just doesn't work well here) But anyways..
One of my fall projects is cleaning out my basement. And I still have the two Tivo's I was using before I cancelled service. I'd hate to just toss them as they are pretty useless to me. But I thought someone on this board could want them for *free*, you just need to pay for packaging and shipping.
I will take the units to the UPS Store in East Boston, MA and have them professionally boxed and shipped. Depending on where you are in the continental US, it shouldn't cost more than 25 bucks with packaging and shipping on UPS Ground. The adapters (see below), I'll ship in a padded envelope and ship USPS (cheaper!). And if you're local to the Boston Metro area, local pickup is always preferred!
Now I have not started the units up in a while but I wanted to see if there's any remote interested at all before I bother to bring them upstairs to the TV and test them. I'm almost 100% positive they are in working condition as both were pulled out and promptly put into the basement on a shelf under plastic. But I will test and post screen shots if folks are really interested!
Here's what I have:
Humax DRT800 Tivo w/ DVD Recorder. This one's drive has been upgraded to a 500GB drive. I still have the original drive, which I can/will ship upon request. Since this one cannot be re-activated, it's for 'parts only', but you must be willing to take the entire device, I won't ship parts!
Tivo Premiere TCD7436320 (2 Tuner Version, supports OTA). This one has the original 1TB drive (so 75 hours of HD). I had upgraded it, but the drive died so I stuck the old drive back in but never bothered to re-upgrade it again. And by the time I was ready to re-upgrade, we cancelled our TV service.
Both boxes will come with the remotes and power cables. The additional cables are long gone (i.e. HDMI, component, etc). I might have the books somewhere down there.. but I would need to find them if you're that interested in having them.
As far as subscription, both do not have lifetime, so you'll need a subscription. And as far as account status, I "cancelled" everything, but I am able to login to my old account see all my old devices. It looks like the only one that can be re-activated is the Premiere, so the Humax would be for "parts only".
I also have a TiVo branded B/G wireless adapter (the original one, which was the biggest PIA). I believe it's a AG0100, but it's buried in a box so I'd have to dig it out to find the exact model number, but I know I have it somewhere and it works with the Premiere.
A Hawking "USB 10/100 Fast Ethernet" Network Adapter (wired) (this one works with S2's, Humax, etc)
And a few of those wired Linksys USB Adapters (like two at least) that work with the older S2's (at one point I had three S2's and the humax!)
I might even have a S2/Humax compatible Linksys wireless adapter (WUSB11 ver 2.0), but I'd need to see how many I have
I'd LIKE to pair an adapter with whoever takes a TiVo if at all possible. Especially the Premiere + TiVo Adapter since they were made for each other.
And finally, if there's any remote interest at all. I know I have a few original drives from ex-Tivo's I've upgraded over the years (S2, Tivo HD, another Premiere) in my "box O hard drives". Even for devices I do not own anymore. Not sure if I can give the drives away, but again.. hate to see them go into the hard drive shredder at work if they are useful to anyone. (and mod's feel free to msg me if it's not legal to do so and I'll remove this from the post)
Anyways let me know if there's any interest in this stuff and I'm happy to hook everything up to test and do screen grabs for folks. If not, it will go with the Earthworm eWaste people when they come at the end of the month to get the rest of my eWaste

2. You must be willing to pay for boxing and shipping 100% via UPS (for the units), USPS for adapters/accessories. Shipping costs must be paid up front before I ship. I will provide a receipt and tracking number when shipped. I accept Paypal, Cash App, and Money Order (via US Mail)
3. You must be in the Continental United States, no overseas shipping
4. Local pickups for folks in Boston will take priority over shipping (sorry, it's just easier!)
5. Since everything is free, everything is 'as is' and no returns! (I will test stuff before I send it out tho!)
6. And finally, you need to take shipment by the end of September, which is when the eWaste people are coming!
