New owner - What order of install should I use

I just bought a used (2 week old) Bolt from a guy that has service till March, 2018.
Going to call WOW and get cable to replace UVerse service the I now have.

My question is do I plugin the tivo and run thru setup then call WOW - or - go to WOW and get the cable setup first. Don't believe that WOW will give me a cablecard without service first.

No idea what the install of cable would be like without a DVR or STB to test and see if it is working. Anyway as you can see I am clueless on how...
