Thought it was an interesting concept to have a Republican and a Democrat US Senator compete supposedly in the wild and to end up with a communication. Discovery set up the story oddly, and to give them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps symbolically.
First, the boat can't get the Senators to the beach (too many obstacles), so they must swim through shark infested infested waters at the sharks feeding time <g>. However, apparently the production staff doesn't seem to have a similar problem landing their gear, and even recording people with similar clothes on swimming as well as sharks in the water. Perhaps they are the Senators, and perhaps there is really a shark or more nearby. Hard to tell.
As they emerge from the water, they are handsome with Kennedyesque teeth and neat and dry, but then some shots have them appropriately dripping wet.
When I had to keep backing up to check whether the shots were real, I began to lose interest. I realize "reality" shows are scripted, but the Discovery Channel seemed to be too unrealistic in setting this up.
I stopped watching, but I'm curious about other people's takes.
