Can dvr record from HD source by default?

Hello all, anytime the tivo proactively records a program it always selects a SD channel. Is there a setting that allows me to change this default behavior so that it selects a HD source instead? For example there are SD and HD channels for syfi network. The tivo records a "suggested" movie on my behalf to be recorded from Syfi channel but it selects the SD channel. Can I change this so that it selects HD for all recordings? I hope my question is clear, thanks. This problem doesn't exist when manually recording shows because you can select what channel to record from.
