Cannot transfer files from TiVo Desktop Plus to Roamio Plus

I purchased TiVo Desktop Plus in order to transfer content from my PC to my Roamio Plus. I can transfer a show to the Roamio that is 1/2 hour long. I can transfer any length program from my Roamio to my PC. I cannot transfer a 1 hour or 1 1/2 hour show to my Roamio.

The active transfer appears in my To Do List and I can actually get 1 hour 20 minutes of the transfer but then it fails. I receive the error message that the transfer failed because it "exceeded the expected size." This makes no sense to me since my Roamio hard drive is only 40% full. Even with most of the transfer downloaded I cannot watch it because TiVo says the download speed is too slow and to try again in 15 minutes.

I've had at least five TiVo tech support calls that have all been escalated but nothing they've suggested solves the problem.

My Roamio Plus is networked with MoCa and there is a Point of Entry Filter installed correctly outside where the coaxial enters the house. My cable provider is Comcast. The TiVo tech support reps say that signal strength is well above the minimum needed for transfers.

I've changed the MoCa channel and rebooted everything; changed the TiVo Desktop cache size to Large (300 MB) and performance to High; connected my PC with ethernet directly into my router and rebooted everything; uninstalled Bonjour and TiVo Desktop Plus, rebooted my computer and the TiVo and reinstalled Bonjour and TDP.

None of these attempted remedies have helped. The latest TiVo software update did not help though I was told by one rep that it should have fixed the problem.

The last tech support rep suggested that my PC was the problem because my processor was probably too slow so the download exceeded the time allowed for the transfer. When I asked how much time is allowed and how can that limit be changed he did not have an answer. My PC processer is an AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.70 GHZ.

Again the error message is that the transfer is larger than expected not slower than expected.

Nothing else is running on the PC when the transfer is in process except basic Windows processes. I am a Mac user and only use the PC for programs that cannot run easily in Parallels for Mac, e.g. TiVo Desktop Plus. The Windows Resource Monitor says the CPU is maxing out at 78% when the transfer is in process so that should not be a problem.

Does anyone have any ideas, suggestions as to what might be the problem and how to correct it? Also is there no way to get transfer to work from a Mac? Would I have the same issues?

Thanks for any help.
