Some more questions before we make the Big Switch to FIOS on TiVo after many years as a DirecTV customer, currently with a THR22 (DirecTV's HD TiVo), HR34 Genie, and 2 Genie clients. The plan, as of today, is to buy a Roamio Pro, Roamio Basic, and 2 Minis. Our DVRs get a lot of use, and I like the idea of a little redundancy plus the Basic's OTA capability in the event of FIOS problems.
1. If the Basic connects to the home network via Ethernet, but the Pro connects by MOCA, will I be able to transfer shows between the 2 Roamios? I wasn't sure after reading the Support info on tivo.com. Both Roamios will have easy access to the router by either Ethernet or MOCA, but the Minis will be in MOCA only locations.
2. How responsive is the Roamio to remote commands, especially the basics like FF and REW? The SD DirecTV TiVos were great, the THR22 a little less responsive, and the Genie just plain bad IMO. That's one of the main reasons the Genie soon became the second DVR, and the THR22 the workhorse.
3. Does streaming content from Netflix, Amazon, etc. on TiVo use the same interface/controls as TiVo content? We have access to these streaming services on 2 TVs but rarely use it, because the user interface is so clunky on both.
4. How long does Guided Setup generally take? How long to return to Live TV from a reboot?
This list would have been a lot longer before I started reading these forums. Thanks for all the good info!
