After almost 8 yrs I'm switching back to TiVo and cable. So I have a couple of questions?
Some info first: I want On Demand so my plan is to have one TWC enhanced 6 tuner DVR in living room that will provide me that and one HD box that uses whole home to access that DVR in the game room. For the master I want to use a TWC cable card for either a Roamio reg or plus with a two minis to cover another room and have TiVo access to my living room.
So my questions
1. Is there a limit on the new TiVo's season/one passes like Directv is limited to 100 shows? I know my old series 2 did not or I couldn't reach it.
2. Will two different DVR's take away from each other? For example will I still be able to record 10 shows at the same time (not that I would need that many)
3. What is the difference between the old and new mini and which would work in my setup better?
4. If I add an esata drive will it add to my DVR space or just replace it and is there a speed compromise.
5. Will TiVo stream support full live and DVR access to my TiVo like my current sling box with genie has setup?
6. Anyone else change over from genie and directv that can give me any heads up on stuff you will miss?
7. Finally any other info I should know before I buy the boxes and schedule the cable guy.
