I'm guessing the change was because it was near impossible to search for the first one on a DVR or VoD.
My guess is that TURN is held back because of the fear that it may be actual history where you'll learn something.
I'm really enjoying it.

I know I love a show if i can't wait until the next episode. Now I'll have to wait all year. **sigh**
I've checked. It doesn't follow history that closely. In fact I was amused that it has "no relationship to actual persons living or dead is intended." Like, our George Washington is a completely different guy. Benedict Arnold, too.
Did we cheer for our General when he showed up to push the battle at Monmouth Court House forward and trap the trappers? It looked like most of Simcoe's Queen's Guards were wiped out in that battle at Monmouth Court House.
Simcoe gets my vote for one of the best villains on TV. He's played so well with the arrogance and smirk and that guy's high voice.
I would think that Major Hewlett could have had his own special forces kill Simcoe instead of playing Mexican standoff. We never saw Washington react to Simcoe's raid on Connecticut and Hewlett's escape.
I was expecting that Robert Rogers would go the rebel side after he was nearly killed by order of King George. I'm sure that will play out next season, with Robert helping/using Abe to flush out Andre.
