This was a special on AXSTV that will be shown again early tomorrow morning and I'm sure, as most things on AXSTV, many more times in the future.
This was more a tribute concert than a Skynyrd concert. Two hours long and Skynyrd only played two songs. I would classify most of the performers as B listers and has-beens but I really enjoyed it. I love their music but I really hate the stage persona of Johnny Van Zant.
Every performer played just one song except for Warren Haynes who did one song with Gov't Mule and one as a solo. Maybe calling them B-Listers is a little harsh since many of the performers, I assume, are Country singers that I'm just not familiar with.
And as much as I dislike Johnny Van Zant, and as cliche as it is, it's still great to see a live performance of Freebird.
Overall, very enjoyable if you're a fan of their music.
