I posted before about my cable card issues with my Roamio and Verizon FIOS. I got the same error code 161 and V58 when tuning to individual channels. I tried something different this time. Instead of calling Verizon and using the automated cable card reset I rebooted my TiVo first. This restored all the channels. Now I really don't know what is going on. Is Verizon not at fault and the TiVo is defective. In the previous post it was discussed that TiVo recommended the attenuator solution. I didn't act on getting that because I was waiting to see if Verizon un-pairing and re-pairing my cable card was the solution. Obviously that wasn't the answer because I just had the failure at 10:10am EDT. The other question is the cable card itself defective. I haven't requested a replacement yet from Verizon because I dread having to stay on the phone with their temporary techs pairing the new card. When I called last week the tech I reached was totally unfamiliar with cable cards and putting me on hold trying to find other agents to help her.
