We currently have a very old Tivo with no service connected to a very old CRT TV in our kitchen. We use the Tivo for rewind/fast-forward, to catch bits we miss while cooking, etc. The TV and Tivo are connected to the cable via a DTA (required when Comcast went all digital). We recently got an HDTV and Comcast X1 HDDVR for the family room, so the picture on the kitchen TV is looking kinda puny by comparison.
We are thinking about getting a small HDTV for the kitchen. We are *not* interested in the "AnyRoom" features of the X1 box and don't want to pay an additional monthly fee for another box to control the kitchen TV.
So we're wondering if we could get a used Tivo of some description that would transmit HD signals to the new TV, allow us to continue the rewind/fast-forward process, but nothing else.
And of course we would like to spend as little money as possible doing it.
Does this make any sense, and what would be the oldest/lowest level model of Tivo to look for?
Thanks.
