Crazy flashing lights after spontaneous reboot

I just got a 3rd refurbished Roamio after the last two proved defective. Popped a 6TB hard drive into it (which had been previously prepped as per the instructions at http://ift.tt/2aAaoJF), and did the setup. Everything went smooth, and it worked perfectly for 6 hours. I was in heaven, because dealing with the last two have been a nightmare.

But then, at about the 6 hour mark, it spontaneously restarted. When it did so, all 4 front lights were going ape**** (or flashing rapidly, if you don't need technical terminology like that). There was a lot of noise coming from the unit. I think maybe it was coming from the hard drive...like it was working really hard. I got the normal start up screen, but after a few minutes, it hadn't changed to the "just a few minutes longer" stage.

Then, I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It booted up normally and has been working fine for about 45 minutes as I type this.

How worried should I be, and what would cause this problem?

If it matters, the problems I had with the previous units were:

1st One: Worked mostly fine for several days, but then started having intermittent loss of picture/sound on all 4 tuners simultaneously. Seemed to be affected by wiggling the co-ax cable. But then I lost picture about another week later, and was never able to recover it. Went through about 7 cable cards in the process. The stats on the signal strength all appeared normal, however. After Tivo transferred service to the replacement, and while I was in the process of getting my existing recordings transferred, it stopped outputting video to my TV or to any other destination I tried (including my PC via a Hauppauge HDPVR2). At this latter stage, it had a blue light in the area of the motherboard that constantly stayed on, and which I hadn't noticed before).

2nd One: This one kept giving me a C133 error ("temporary" problem with connection to the Tivo service). As a result, I couldn't use any of the apps or functions like "search" that are in some way associated. However, I was never unable to actually connect to the service, and could get all the guide info and all that anytime I wanted. I could also transfer programs to and from the box freely. It was like it thought there was a C133 and took away my options, but the connection was really just fine. I troubleshooted about 6 different times with Tech Support and tried about 25 different fixes, but none worked even for a second.

Thanks!

EDIT: Okay so it happened again about 70 minutes later. This time, my video playback on a recording suddenly froze. I tried navigating within the recording and then within menus. The response to my remote was delayed by anything from a few seconds to a full minute or so. Then the sudden restart. The crazy lights didn't immediately happen this time, but they eventually did. Obviously I should be worried. The sounds was definitely coming from my hard drive. Sounds like it's working like crazy, but only while this stuff is going on. Other than that, I can't hear it. Is my hard drive dying? I did get it from Amazon's "Warehouse Deals..."
