TiVo mini remote volume issues

I have TiVo mini on my Samsung tv with the TiVo remote controlling the tv volume (no sound bar). I have been experiencing an issue lately where the remote, completely untouched, has turned the couple up to max. It has happened multiple times and ice it starts, there is nothing I can do to stop it.

I have replaced the batters, still happens. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not sure if the remote has been dropped 0r not. The mini is only a couple months old.
