Creative future uses for Tivo Series One

So now that our Series One units are no longer getting guide updates, I'm wondering to what good uses we can put our old units.

Maybe recycle? Maybe reuse old hard drives? Maybe make into a linux box of some type? Maybe use for recordings for a security system?

Just wonder what ideas are out there before I dispose of my unit.
