Premiere v Mini

Until a recent thread, I had no idea Roamios and Premieres could stream their recordings to each other. This is interesting. I have a Roamio Basic and I want to extend it to the bedroom, but I am loathe to have it lose a tuner when someone is watching TV in there as all four tuners are in use as much as they are not during primetime.

Previously I had ruled out the Premiere as the number one priority for my hypothetical second box would be to watch recordings from the living room Roamio in the bedroom. Once I realized that a Premiere can actually do this, I still ruled out the Premiere due to the cost difference. However, I have been reading in the Premiere forum that people have succeeded in buying used ones, activating them for their trial period, and then canceling as it expires to be offered $99 lifetime. I have seen non-lifetimed Premieres on craiglist within a few hours drive from $50 to $100 dollars several times in the past few months.

If I could get a lifetimed Premiere for $200 or less, even a 2 Tuner original, what are the pros and cons v the Mini that you guys see? To me the pros of the Premiere is that I could get a cablecard for it for $3/mo and then suddenly have six tuners over my system spread over two machines instead of four over two machines. Accordingly I'd be able to settle my very few remaining recording conflicts and I'd also have marginally increased HD space. The pros for the Mini are that it would be up to $50 cheaper if I moved on it soon enough, that it would remove the game of CSR roulette that I will need to play with the Premiere, and that it will have the ability to schedule and delete recordings from my Roamio.

It seems like the Premiere wins by first round KO in this fight, but I could be missing something. Feel free to weigh in.
