Hello - Forgive me for the lengthy list of questions, but hoping someone can advise me on a plan I have.
I currently have a tivo roamio (4-tuner) with a WD external 1TB hard drive. Also have three minis.
I am considering upgrading to a tivo roamio plus or pro, but have a few questions:
1) Is there a way to transfer my shows from the 4-tuner to the pro/plus? either a direct copy with both on the same network or via some windows utility?
2) Will my existing minis connect to the new roamio automatically?
3) Amazon has the plus/pro for 50$/100$ cheaper than tivo.com. If i purchase from amazon, can i still buy the extended warranty from tivo when i activate it? Is there any reason to purchase directly from tivo (cost being biggest factor).
4) I would like to get lifetime service on this unit (Current unit is month to month). I have been a current customer for 18 months (and a former customer before that many years ago). Can i expect a better price for lifetime service when i activate? what would i expect to pay? ive seen some posts mentioning getting it as cheap as 200$..is this possible in my case?
5) For my existing 4-tuner, my wife and i share our time between two homes. During the week we spend our time at our main home, but during the wekeends, we stay at our new house about 30 mins away. This will happen for about 6 - months to a year while we finish the work on our new home. Is it possible for me to put the older roamio at the other location for weekends? I know that tivo doesnt allow multiple households on same account, but what would happen in this case? It is a different cable provider at the other location.
