TiVo Remote Control Setup

Hi,

I am wondering; in process of proceeding through the remote control setup of the TiVo, Step 1 (program TV power volume and mute) and then moving on to step 2 (program A/V volume and mute); Do I need to switch the TV's speaker settings from "internal" to "External A/V" before proceeding to step 2?

(Is this question clear enough :confused:)
