Does anyone know whether the TiVo Mini (either Gen 1 or Gen 2) puts out a lower HDMI signal strength when streaming internet content?
Here's the problem: We have three minis located in our basement with signal sent to TVs via Key Digital CATHD250POH HDMI extenders. They work flawlessly with live TV or streaming recorded shows from the Roamio, but we get video and audio drop out when streaming HD content (Netflix, Amazon Prime).
We've tried everything: swapping Minis, swapping HDMI cables, nothing works. To make matters even more confusing, we have no trouble streaming if the sequence is Roamio --> CATHD250POH --> TV, or Mini --> AV Receiver --> CATHD250POH --> TV. The only situation that fails is when streaming internet HD content on the Mini to the TV via the HDMI extender.
One other clue: we take the audio out straight from the mini for our speaker system. If we disconnect the HDMI cable at the TV, we still get intermittent audio. But if we disconnect the HDMI cable before the extender, the audio works fine. So it clearly has something to do with the HDMI connection between the Mini and the HDMI Extender.
And, to reiterate an earlier point, streaming recorded content is no problem whatsoever.
The logical conclusion we are drawing is that perhaps the Mini sends out a weaker HDMI signal when streaming content than when playing recorded content.
Has anyone else experienced this situation? Any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks.
