I was an original TiVo owner from more than 10 years ago -- I can see that my last visit to this forum was from 2006! I bought the original model 1 month after it was released.
At this point I'm coming back around, moving back to an antenna and cutting out satellite. I do have a question about how the Netflix and Amazon and Hulu integration work, though. If I search for a show and it turns out that it is found on one of those services, do I "record" it like I would an OTA recording? Does it record to my local HD for later watching?
One reason I ask is that I've had some real bad experiences with having friends come over to watch something via streaming, and to have it be unwatchable because of the network pauses. So it would be very nice if I could use my large HD to hold the programming for local playback.
