There is something I have noticed for a while with my Tivo + receiver and it's sort of bugging me -- there is a bit of a buzz/hum from my speakers, especially if the sound is set a bit high. Problem is, I notice this when I change input too.
My setup right now has my tivo connected by hdmi to TV, RCA out to my receiver (as it is old and has RCA only, no digital inputs). My Roku + Bluray is also hooked up to my receiver by RCA cables. Whenever I wish to watch a specific device, I just change inputs on my TV + receiver, and all is good.
But the tivo/rca connection causes a bit of a background hum w/ the speakers. I can change the input to bluray or roku, and the hum is still there. I unplug the tivo from my receiver, and buzz/hum goes away. So the tivo-receiver connection is the culprit.
My question is, how do I fix this? And why is it occurring? Issue with my receiver, or tivo audio output? Or background interference from somewhere?
