I don't know if my issue is about aspect or something else and I'm probably stupid for caring about this but I do. ALOT.
So I have an HD TV, HD Comcast Service, and a Roamio that records HD. I recorded a movie (Oz the Great and Powerful) on an HD channed (SyFy, if it matters) and the movie still is letterboxed (not even sure if that's the right word - thick black lines on the left and right to make the picture square). Interestingly, whatever is on that channel now fills the whole screen.
Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
In an ironic twist, I miss old square TVs and, if I were watching it on a square TV, it wouldn't even bother me that it's square. Stupid, right? :rolleyes:
