Did update increase scan speed during skip?

Did Tivo increase the scanning speed or the frame rate during scanning?

I'm over at my mom's house using her Roamio basic and noticed that her 30 sec skip seems to scan through at a higher speed or perhaps displays frames at a higher frame rate than before or in comparison to what I'm used to on my Roamio basic. (Will have to check mine when I get home)

It definitely looks faster but I'm wondering if it is harder to recognize things since they go by quicker.
