Slide Remote Problem

I have the old style slide remote. It no longer responds to key presses like it used to. For example if I held the volume up button, the volume would go up as long as I held the button. Now it will only go up one notch no matter how long I press it. also other long presses (right/left) no longer worked like they used to.



Any suggestions other than changing the batteries?
