I currently use a Tivo Roamio Pro, but Tivos that use Cable Cards cannot access On Demand programming with most, if not all, cable providers.
I am in the disastrous process of changing from Time Warner to FiOS and part of the disaster was that a bunch of programs were either missed, incomplete or just unwatchable and are now only available in On Demand.
Series 2 Tivos don't use Cable Cards but accept a feed direct from a cable box. I do have a basic FiOS cable box to access On Demand, but watching On Demand is worse than watching live TV. Most Tivo functionality can't be used.
I am trying to record On Demand shows direct from the cable box to the Tivo 2 Humax. It was in use until about 2 months ago, but it will not start anymore.
When I plug it in, I get the "Welcome, Powering Up" screen and it just stays on that screen forever. Every now and then it goes to the next screen which I believe says, "Almost There, Just a Few Minutes More" for about 10 seconds then goes back to the "Welcome, Powering Up" screen.
How can I get this Series 2 Tivo to complete the boot process?
