Mini freezing live tv. Recordings play fine.

I've had an issue in the past where the mini would give the v87 error, etc. I moved the mini into a new room with new cat5e cable and it's been fine for ~3 weeks or so. This morning my daughter told me it was freezing every few seconds. When I went in there it was just on a frozen screen. She switched it to a recording and that seemed to play fine for a minute or so. I had to go to work so I just told her to watch that for this morning and I'll reboot everything this afternoon.

So, is there anything that would make live tv unwatchable but recordings would be OK? If it was a comcast problem then it wouldn't even play a second or two of live tv on the mini. I didn't get a chance to check the roamio.
