I've really been helped by reading posts getting ready to buy another TIVO and wanted to let as many know as possible of serious technical issues at TIVO. I strongly recommend holding off on any new orders until this issue is fixed.
I just got off a 30 minute call to follow up on an order placed 2 days ago that was not showing in my order history and was not followed up by the customary email with a confirmation #. I was advised that their are experiencing an "outage" impacting numerous orders. When the sales rep hits enter on the order, iyour credit card is charged but the order is posting to someone else's account and TIVO then has virtually no way to know the confirm# or whose account the order has posted to. This person now has all the info on your order, your name, address, account name, last 4 of your credit card, and expiration date. This has been pushed to Advanced Escalation Team to try to correct via the SEP system. They think the actual hardware will ship correctly but were unable to verify. Very scary.
