I don't even know where to ask anymore. Anytime I stop posting here for a month or three, when I return I feel like I just woke up on a new planet.
I think the last time they installed new software was in April and I was posting then. The description of the Coffee House says it is where you can ask anything, so here goes.
1 - I seem to remember there was once a way for me to view ALL of my previous posts here. If so, where do I find that? I only have 430 old posts since 2003.
2 - Around April, someone sent me a link to a page where I can report glitches in the new update. I can't find that either but seeing ALL my old posts would let me find it in a flash.
Sample glitches in TiVo Central.
1 - Manage Recordings and One Pass | Find by Time | * Choose Date & Time
* Before the new update your next choice was All Channels or Favorite Channels. Now you go straight to All Channels and are forced to scroll through HUNDREDS of channels for each 1/2 hour time slot instead of 15 or 20 Favorite Channels.
Put that choice back.
2 - Picayune maybe, but to computer people, making us wait 20 or 30 seconds for ANYTHING is pure torture. It is time to shut down and go out or go to sleep.
Settings & Messages | Standby In Standby, the TiVo Box shut down IMMEDIATELY and I quickly shut down my TV and went about my business.
Now, clicking on Standby brings up the "Standby" Screen which says:
In Standby the TiVo box does not display audio and video on your TV. However, shows will still record normally.
To exit Standby, press TiVo or Live TV. It may take up to 30 seconds for the DVR to wake up.
If you do not wish to enter Standby, press any button to cancel.
Before this software "improvement" pressing standby put your DVR into standby instantly. Recordings already continued normally and if you changed your mind, pressing the TiVo button reopened TiVo Central without having to first watch that useless "Waking Up" screen
