I just purchased a new 2016 LG 22LH4530 HDTV. My condo/apartment building just upgraded their cable contract with RCN cable and everyone got HD service and a Tivo Premiere included in our assessment.
Anyway, when the RCN tech first set up the Tivo box, he paired the my main Sony TV in the living room. The LG TV is in the adjacent kitchen are of the open floorplan room. When I press ANY button on my Tivo Premiere remote, the LG TV turns on even though the Tivo remote was not programmed for LG TVs and the LG TV is not hooked up to the Tivo (the LG TV is facing a different direction than the Sony). I think both the LG TV and Tivo remotes both operate using Infra Red. I have tried changing the address on the Tivo remote to 9 possible addresses and the same thing keeps happening. I was hoping that I could change the Tivo remote to use RF but I don't think the one I got is capable of that - I followed instructions for RF but I think the remote is for the Roamio (even though it physically looks the same - ?). I am not sure what to do - I'm all new to Tivo and never had this type of problem before. Any suggestions?
