Can I plug an Apple Airport Extreme into my Roamio?

I have Fios with MOCA and just want to increase wifi signal strength throughout the house. My router is in the basement. My Roamio Plus is on the main floor. Can I just plug an Apple Airport Extreme into the Ethernet port on the Roamio and get better wifi?? Are there any settings that you would suggest I change? Thanks for the tips!
