Bolt Plus issue: No lights and no video outpout

Hello, so my Bolt+ is powering on when I plug it in (I hear the fan and the hard drive spool up) but there are no lights on the front of the device and no video output. I've tried cold booting it (removing the cable card, Ethernet, coax and AC power for 30 minutes) with no luck. Does this sound like a power supply issue? Does anybody have any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

Sorry to bother, but my Premiere XL (TCD748000) died yesterday (I think from power outage...it is stuck on "Welcome...starting up" and makes a loud noise). I thought it was the fan, but the fan is blowing nicely. So I've come to the conclusion it's the hard drive. I'm happy to go to Fry's to get a new hard drive, and follow instructions I have found online, but I cannot find the ISO for the TCD748000 anywhere. Would someone happen to know where I can find one?

I've been a TiVo Series 3 user for ages, and a Plex Media Server user for years, but I've never used the two of them together. Now I'm considering a Roamio OTA to replace my aging Series 3/HD.

The TiVo sales propaganda says Roamio OTA is compatible with Plex, but compatible how? Can the TiVo "see" movies and TV shows stored on my Plex media server and play them like any other content? Given both units are over 3 years old and had previous paid subscription, I don't feel $14.99 a month is justified.

I'm on Mediacom and have their new MG2 Tivo powered box. Similar to the Bolt. But it won't activate on Tivo.com and mediacom hasn't been much help yet. They suggested I use my Roamio Plus in place of one of their minis.

If I do that would the MG2 and the Roamio be able to see each other and share recordings?

I want to replace my Tivo Series 3 with Bolt 500GB and have questions.
I have the Series 3 connected via Comcast Cable Card and I have a plan that only includes local channels plus HBO.
Since I have great OTA coverage and the Bolt supports HBOGO, would I be better off returning the cable card and using OTA plus HBOGO instead? If not, can I just move the M cablecard from the Series 3 to the Bolt without calling Comcast or do I need a replacement cablecard?

I have a new Bolt+, got it last week during their promo. My provider is Cox, and I got three cable cards from them, two of which seem to work, they pair, Cox can "see" them, etc. I've also got two tuning adapters, both of which look like they should be working.

Can the Roamio OTA stream shows from other DVRs? (bolt+). My recent Roamio Pro failure has me thinking of disaster recovery options. I'm thinking about buying a roamio OTA and putting it on my spare TV. If my new bolt + suffers a failure, I can switch the minis to the roamio OTA (?).

I have internet-only from Comcast, and OTA rooftop antenna.

I have TiVo bolt to activate the moca network.

At which points should I split my coax lines to go to the other rooms?

And where should I have Poe filters?

I guess this is disabled in software for the OTA model? Was surprised to find it during the unboxing and even more surprised that I was offered Cable OR Antenna during setup.

I went to check them out and Ameba complains about no internet connection. Screenshot attached.

This is odd, as all the other internet-connected TiVo apps operate fine in all respects.

I'm looking to upgrade my Roamio to 3TB and am having trouble finding the WD Green AV-GP drive at a reasonable price. The WD Red and the WD Purple both seem to be options and are both in the $110 range, but other threads give conflicting advice about which is preferable. Newegg actually shows the Purple as the replacement for the Green AV-GP. Other folks here seem to like the Red. I really need to pull the trigger on one and would appreciate some definitive guidance. Anybody watching this? I read a review of it last night and was looking for something to watch so I gave it a go. It's an animated series taking place in 1973 in Central PA. It's sort of a cross between All In the Family and Family Guy. The Dad is voiced by Bill Burr the comedian. I like it, but definitely NOT a family show!! S2 was just released but I'm about 4 episodes into S1. The premise might get a bit old after awhile, but at least for now I'm enjoying it.

After a few years with zero issues I started having problems about six week ago with my tuning adapter. Sometimes the SDV channels would not always work, then they all stopped working. The tuning adapter diagnosis looked fine. So I unplugged the TA and replugged in and restarted Tivo. After that my Tivo stated that there was no tuning adapter connected.

I'm new to cord cutting, using tvfool, and rabbitears info. I've learned I have two channel 18. One virtual channel is channel 5 with a strong signal, the other is 10. The virtual channel 10 is oeta (Oklahoma Ed TV association) I receive oeta on virtual channel 12. Am a Comcast sub in Richmond VA.
Channel 846 - Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic HD = equivalent SD channel 4.

What's displayed & outputted on screen is SD & not HD even though the info on my TiVo is showing 720p; the picture quality is definitely SD.

I compared side by side with other TV's in my house & what Comcast is showing for CSNMA on all the screens for 846 HD is the same as SD Channel 4.

I have a Bolt+ with the Netflix UHD package. UHD/4k streaming for select titles works great!

My question is about the rest of the content I watch on Netflix @1080P:

I'd prefer to let my Sony XBR65X850A do the upscaling of 1080->2160, as Ive read the Sony hardware is pretty good at that.

I love everything about my XL4, but it is slow and getting old. How would these other 2 models differ, on these points:
1.Recording-tuner lights on the front panel, 1 for each tuner.
2.Programming interface. I know how to schedule programs on my XL4. Is this different on the other 2 models?

My account lists I have a 1tb Romeo. Im wondering if they even know I upgraded the HD?

Today I bought a renewed Bolt with 500gb for $149 and transferred my broken series 3 lifetime for $99. I will get it next week.

Questions: If I upgrade my new Bolt to a 1 or 2tb drive will it void my warranty or will Tivo know I did it??

Every so often I take the time to transfer recordings from my Tivo's to my PC. Then use VideoRedo to edit them. I can never remember the correct format to save the files in so that I can play them back on my TivoHD and Bolt+ and also load them onto my tablet. One Bolt+ or two Bolt 500GB

I am about to buy my first TiVo system. I have three TV's and am considering one Bolt+ and two minis OR maybe two Bolt 500 GB and one mini. The option for two Bolts is so me and my wife would have separate accounts to setup for recordings and such. The down side is a total of 1 TB instead of 3 TB. If two systems would we be able to share recordings over the moca network? Will the Bolt plus and two minis allow enough flexibility?

I have just upgraded my Tivo Bolt from a 500GB hard drive to a 4 TB HD. The new HD is a WD red 4 TB in an external enclosure and I made the upgrade using the Ross Walker method. The new HD is in an external outside the Tivo and all of the formatting, both doing it first on the Tivo then moving to the Windows 10 system to run Mfsr went smoothly. Once I re-attached the new HD to the Tivo, it would not complete Guided Setup because of network attachment problems however.

I have been unable to find the code to program the Tivo Remote Control for the Sony Bravia KDL-52XBR4 LCD TV.

I have even tried using the 0999 code and using the channel up for what seems like 20 minutes but it never turns the TV off.

Roamio #1 (monthly) has a 2TB hard drive that I installed when I bought the Roamio over a year ago, so there are lots of shows recorded on it. I just bought Roamio #2 with a lifetime subscription, but I haven't received it yet therefore it has not yet been activated.

I'd like to retire Roamio #1 along with its monthly fees making Roamio #2 my primary.

Is it possible to remove the 2TB hard drive from Roamio #1 and install it in Roamio #2 and preserve the shows already recorded on it?...

My Premier has been in service since 2010. We did do a HD upgrade 3 years ago. Biggest downside, it's only 2 tuners, so no support for a Mini.

We only have 1 TV, but plan to add another one within 12 months. We don't have a 4k TV, but probably will within 18 month. We like OnePass, but honestly it takes like 60 seconds to boot the apps sometimes, and it often requires several attempts as it is so slow to respond that...

I have a cable service provided modem with the MoCa feature built-in.
All my Bolt's are set as clients using MoCa.
All works well as far as streaming from one Bolt to another, and on the Bolt, watching HuLu, YouTube, Netflix using the Tivo related app.
But when going into VuDu on the Bolt and watching anything, after about 1 to 2 minutes the MoCa network crashes, the MoCa light on the router flashes (MoCa network loss) and on the Tivo Bolt's, going into settings/network/view network...

Slide remote suddenly reverts to I/R intermittently

Title says all. Suddenly, both our slide remotes are intermittently falling back to I/R (LED is red when it should be yellow). The Bolt is about 10-15 feet line of sight from the couch where both remotes reside. Battery reported as 40% on one of them so I changed both sets of batteries. They now report 80% but both still occasionally revert to I/R.

I have tivo with Mediacom and they hooked my 3 minis up via moca...I have had nothing but issues with this set up. My OTA antenna source is currently amplified +45dB mV as it's intended to feed multiple TVs, whereas for right now I'm just testing with a feed to a single TV (via a Tivo Bolt). I set up parental controls simply to limit accidental or possible guest purchases, however I kept getting asked for my PIN when just trying to watch TV.

On further investigation, I figured out that under Set Ratings Limits, both “Unrated TV Shows” and “Unrated Movies” were set to [Block All].

Problems watching Bolt+ programs on my Roamio

I currently have a Roamio and I just recently purchased a Bolt+. I am having difficulty watching programs (that I have recorded on my Bolt+) on my Roamio. The programs constantly hang-up and are basically unwatchable on my Roamio. On the other hand, I have no problems whatsoever watching programs (that I recorded on my Roamio) on my Bolt+. Thanks,

Like others, it would seem, I am having an issue with Plex on my recently updated Bolt. I am able to connect to and browse my Plex server, but I am unable to play any files.

Does anybody have any solution to this?

Some one was told by TiVo that the Plex now connects over the WAN??? Is this really true? Are many others having similar issues?

I got an 8 TB Western Digital Red drive for my Romeo Pro thanks to your instructions I was able to upgrade it and use MSR4 to expand the drive after the initial Tivo software loaded. I purchased my first TIVO, an OTA box and received it on Jan 15. On that date i noticed many of the channels (around 10) are incorrect in the guide or showing TO BE ANNOUNCED. I have tried through TV support both chat and email to get these problems corrected for over a month now and nothing has been done. They keep marking my emails as solved on their web site even though nothing has been fixed.

So, I record a program and obviously the recording includes the commercials. What mechanism is at work to make my TiVo skip past these segments? Or are my recordings somehow replaced by the TiVo abridged recordings? If not replaced, is TiVo sending something to my unit to jump over the ad on the fly? What if the Internet connection is down?

For the love of god, someone please help me!!!! I bought the TIVO Roamio and an HDTV Antenna (one of those flat circle kind that are supposed to stick to anything). Hi there, I recently upgraded my Roamio Pro to a Bolt + and I am now seeing issues with my 2 TiVo minis and the dreaded lost connection v87 error.

My setup:
- moca v1.1 network
- netgear R700 nighthawk router
- Bolt+ connected to moca
- both tivo min's are connected via ethernet

I have a set up with a Roamio Plus, a Premiere and a Mini all connected via MoCA. I am in the process of replacing the Premiere I have (2-tuners) with a Premiere 4 (4-tuners).

The Premiere 4 can see the Roamio on the MoCA network and get to My Shows, but when it does, it reverts to the old SD menus instead of staying HD. My old Premiere does not do this.

I've double checked the Menu option in Settings, even switched to SD, then back to HD. But it's still happening. Not the end of the...

Channel Lineup Choices

I got a replacement for a broken TiVo and when I get to the part of selecting the channel lineup, the only Comcast choice is "Comcast standard", which then doesn't even list the hd channels in the guide. This did not happen when I set up the one it's replacing (same model).

If I go to the channel manually, I am receiving it, so it's not a problem with receiving channels, it's not letting me select the proper lineup.

I guess I will manually have to go through channels, adding to the lineup....

Earlier today I was watching TV, semi-live, and all of a sudden the screen was frozen. I always use the Tivo clock and I noticed that the Tivo clock also disappeared.

Unplugged it from the electricity and plugged it back in. Looked like it was booting up so I waited. It only went so far as one of the 'just a minute' pages and just nothing - black screen.

Transferring between Bolt/Roamio and PRemiere?

I am running a Premiere XL and was about to pull the trigger on some new on-sale TiVo boxes -- a new Bolt and possibly a Roamio OTA -- all based on the assumption that I could easily transfer recordings between the Premiere and the Bolt/Roamio OTA. But I read there were problems transferring between the older boxes and the newer ones. Can anyone tell me if the problems are now resolved? I don't want to spend a bunch on new boxes until I'm sure my transfer plan will work!

S3 can transfer from Roamio OTA, Roamio OTA cannot (C423)

I set up a new Roamio OTA today.

Connected to mothership a couple of times after the initial OS update.

Have two S3s, both of which show up in the Roamio OTA menu.

My Roamio shows up in the S3's menu.

When I try to transfer shows from S3 -> Roamio (pull shows from Roamio menu), after a few second pause, I get a C423 error saying "Can't Connect to DVR-XXX box"

Then I try transferring Roamio -> S3 (pull shows from S3 menu) it works fine, I see the list of shows and can initiate transfer...

I called tech support and they said it will thru the composite output with the component breakout cable they sell for the Mini. Bought the cable and it was a no go. Did research on web and found 2 reviews of Roamios and both said they would not do Component Video. Called tech support back and they said it would again and sent me another set of the cables to try. Got them today and still no luck. Bottom line is has anyone got the Roamio to work wit Component Video thru the AV output?

After a few years with zero issues I started having problems about six week ago with my tuning adapter. Sometimes the SDV channels would not always work, then they all stopped working. The tuning adapter diagnosis looked fine. So I unplugged the TA and replugged in and restarted Tivo. After that my Tivo stated that there was no tuning adapter connected.

I have a new computer from Dell with Dell warranty service. They don't seem to understand the problem I'm having. Now I'm doubting myself. Issue is, my page freezes too often and nothing works, get a 'Page Unresponsive' sign. Another thing is when I click on a menu, it too often 'flashes' at me...quickly opens and shuts, like in fraction of second. They say it may be internet connectivity issue. No new guide data for 30 days - S03 error

I got a notice today that my Roamio Pro hasn't been able to get data for 30 days, and when I check the status screen it says Failed..SO3 error. I'm given to understand this means the channel guide database is corrupt, and new data won't load.

It connects fine, downloads the data OK, takes a looooong time to load (I gave up watching after an hour at 40%), but in the end it fails with the SO3 error.

I've read suggestions for other models , including KickStart 57, deleting the guide data and...

Netflix poor quality

Has anybody seen poor/inconsistent picture quality on Netflix Tivo app in the past several weeks? My Roamio ethernet is hard wired to a 10Gbps switch, and ISP speed is 65Mbps. Other devices on the same switch see full port speed and full internet speed. However, Netflix quality is extremely variable. Starts out ok, then drops very low every few minutes, then back to good quality. Used to be good for hours at a time in months prior.

I have a friend who says he will pay me $500 for My Lifetime Roamio Pro. I can then use that cash to buy The Bolt+ with Lifetime with the current sale.

I would accept $500 because it's a friend and we cool like that.

But the real question is, IS the Bolt+ worth a $330 upgrade over my current RPro?

I do have a UHD TV but never really stream.

Tivo roamio and steam on different accounts error

They both on the same account but I get a error message saying that they are on different accounts. Tivo stream was working till I installed a new wifi router.

How can I fix this?

Need help with Moca network

I've been having trouble with my internet connection and Comcast thinks it is because of how I have my network set up for moca.

I have internet-only from Comcast, and OTA rooftop antenna.

I have TiVo bolt to activate the moca network.

I have three TiVo minis (all connected via coax)

At which points should I split my coax lines to go to the other rooms?

And where should I have Poe filters?

So I just watched Our Mrs. Reynolds. I love this show! I liked this episode because it some of everyone in it. Really funny. I don't think I'm going to be happy when this show ends. Favorite line: "Good Bible."

I'm not crazy about the pilot and Zoey though, they annoy me.

And I know the crazy girl becomes a main character so I guess she starts talking later.

Still can't figure why they have so much technology, but ride horses. I know...

Hulu freezing with bolt

Suddenly Hulu is freezing with my bolt. Everything else works fine. Someone posted a fix.
The Hulu people were quite helpful but they could not solve the problem even after changing a setting on their end. This just started last night (Dec 24)

The problem must be with the TIVO because Hulu works fine in my laptop and phone.

Please splain: What part of the story established any reason at all for the blue janitor guy to be afraid of the bagheads? If they only come for humans and they leave him alone, then why is it necessary to shoot humans? They'll get carried off anyway.

I'm hoping someone can help with my CC problem. I've been working with Comcast and TiVo for over 10 hours, have gone through 4 CC"s and nobody is able to get this to work. I have a new Bolt + and when I insert the CC, for some of them I get a "Non M-Card inserted" message, even though the card is definitely an M card. OTA on Bolt+ in the future?

Considering how past Tivo models evolved, does anyone think that it's possible that Tivo will release a Bolt+ that also includes an OTA antenna input as well as cable capabilities? I sincerely do not understand why the top of the line Bolt+ model does not support both, when the entry level Bolt does.

I was just about to purchase a Bolt+, but I'm now hesitating because of the lack of OTA antenna support (which makes it less future proof if I ever decide to cut the cord).

I never had this issue before. Since the New ROVI "upgrade" I get it on both my Premiers every few days. A manual connect may work, but often fails. If I try again, it may work.
Can I assume it will all go back to normal when TIVO fixes this "Update" and everyone, including myself, stops forcing connects?

Very often, I'm seeing this behavior on my Windows 7 desktop viewing this site through Chrome. I'll open a thread, and momentarily it'll be positioned at the correct post of the thread, but after reading maybe one sentence, suddenly I get involuntarily scrolled up to the first post on the page.

Yes, I can just scroll down again (I'm still on the correct page), but often I won't know which post number I was just reading, and I have to kind of skim through posts until I see the correct one....
