Streaming Roamio OTA with Roamio Pro?

Can I use the Roamio Pro I have to stream content stored on my Roamio OTA or do I need a Tivo Stream to stream content stored on the OTA?

I could just resell my lifetimed Pro, but I figure I might go back to cable if it is ever offered on our street, so not worth it for now.

how to record only part of a show?

I like to watch the Today show in the morning while I get ready for work, but I only want to record the first 30 minutes of the 4 hour show. 30 minutes in, it turns into the housewife show which I have no interest in, but the first 30 minutes has a good recap of the the news of the previous day and overnight.

Is there a way to do this? It lets you record longer than a show is, but it seems there is no option to end the recording early.

Any ideas?

Moving TiVo to a new house

Do I need to do anything with my Roamio Pro when I move as far as Comcast is concerned? Is my cablecard somehow tied to a particular account in addition to the Roamio itself, or can I just shut down the TiVo in one house and plug it in in the other and everything magically works?

Recent new Denver channel causing reboots.

The Laff channel was added a couple of months ago in Denver to the ABC affiliate on 7-3

This weekend - this channel and only this channel - has started causing the TIVO to not respond to the remote randomly and occasional rebooting.

I though it was just the one machine, but realized it was happening to both of my series 3's and in talking with my parents they indicated the same issue is happening to them on their series 3 - they deleted the channel and all is fine.

They're ~20 miles south of me - closer to the transmitters on Lookout Mtn in Golden. So their signal would be stronger - but this is a sub-channel for the local ABC affiliate (they have 3 subs though they're not broadcasting on 7-4 anymore).

We're both OTA - no cable - and these are all Series 3 (OLED) Tivo's.

The Tivo stops responding to the remote - sometimes it recovers, sometimes it reboots. Happens during both live and recorded shows.
I've noticed the length on recorded shows will sometimes be incorrect.

Here's the diagnostic info - the only that appears off to me is the RS corrected?

Any ideas what the issue is that would be affecting TIVO's in different locations the same way for the same channel? At 29Db - it's not a hot signal - no pixelation or drop outs observed....

I ran a kickstart 54 - and it came back up in only a few minutes. Drive is relatively new. If it was the power source - wouldn't it be happening on any channel not just this one, and not on all three of these TIVO's?

Is it a TIVO issue or a station signal encoding issue?

I did go into the channel list and there are 2 7-3's listed (actually there are 2 of all the ABC sub channels listed) - both were checked....

Deutschland 83 - Season 1 Discussion (2015) - Spoilers

Now that we can read the subtitles a bit better, how about some chat about the show?

I am happy that the main character is starting to show some smarts at times (e.g. dealing with the fallout of that woman in his hotel room) since in the first episode we saw him making that ridiculous phone call to his girlfriend.

Like others have mentioned, I do feel like we're watching a German version of "The Americans." I guess this one has replaced the family tension subplot with horniness for a girlfriend on the other side of the wall.

One thing I'm not liking is the frame rate they chose for this show. It was either shot at 50Hz (and converted to 60Hz for us in the USA) or it is having time compression applied to it. When almost everything else on TV (short of talking heads and sports) has lower film-like framerates, this one looks weird in comparison.

Tivo mini output distance

Does anyone know the maximum cable distance from the output of a Tivo Mini? HDMI or composite/component, a/v ?

Ultimately, I would like to feed two tvs from one mini. The tvs are too close to be on different stations, but far enough away to provide viewing from different seating areas.

I'm having issues getting HDMI signal to the further away tv on HDMI, but worked fine with previous cable dvr. Maybe get amplified HDMI splitter?

Moving from Directv to Mediacom +Tivo

I currently have a DTV Genie + a couple of genie-clients.
I plane on getting a Tivo Roamio and a couple of Minis to replace this since I have mediacom high speed internet.

I have mediacom signal coming straight to my modem. There is another piece of coax that runs back to the splitter that feed the rest of the house.

I need to bridge these two together. I have read up on moca and haven't been able to put it together.

Any help would be appreciated.

Tivo roamio blank screen till reboot

My tivo roamio has got a blank screen 2 times already. Last time I pressed resume on a show and the screen went blank and pressing every button didn't stop the blank screen so I had to reboot it. But it was still recording and the minis still play videos from it?

Should I be worried? Does anyone else have this problem?

Setup Premier with Tivo Stream?

I have two Premieres in the basement with HDMI going to TV's upstairs. I need a simple solution to access the Tivo video and configuration screens other than leave a TV in the basement for that.

When I use the Tivo app on my Ipad the app settings do not include the Tivo configuration screens. Will a Stream box add that for the Premiere series?

If not what are other options (other than purchase a small TV).

Hi,

I have a TCD652, lifetime service. A couple of years ago, the hard drive crapped out, so I replaced it with a 1-gigger from DVRupgrade (WD10EURX -- WD "green"). Well, now that one has crapped out, too (GSOD in-between reboots) -- and with a LOT of shows on it. I'd like to get them back.

You'd 'a thunk I would have learned from the previous failure and made a backup, but I didn't. I promise I won't let that happen again!!!

I've got a USB to SATA adapter on a laptop running Win7. I did not let Windows do anything to the drive. I ran WD's extended diags -- it reported no issues.

I can get MFSlive and WinMFS to recognize the drive (/dev/sdb), but msfinfo tells me "volume header corrupt." Partition list looks generally TiVo-like. (It's been many years since I worked in Unix/Linux, but I can try to capture and post here if the specifics are important/helpful.)

The drive is still under WD's warranty, so I may be able to get a replacement -- with nothing on it, of course. Is that necessary/advisable (since it passed diags)? (They'll undoubtedly give me a refurbished unit, and I don't have much faith in refurbs.)

Whether or not I get a new drive: Is there anything I can try to get back my shows (and season passes and all)? I've scoured this forum and other sources for many hours over the last couple of days, haven't found anything else that sounded promising enough to try (mostly because everything involves dual drives, and I don't have that luxury).

I'd rather not spend much money, but if there's something I can buy cheap-ish that would allow me save my shows and is easy to execute, I'll take it. (Not asking too, too much, am I? ;)

Failing "cheap/easy/effective," I'm willing to try anything. (Let me warn you that vacation is coming up soon, so might not respond quickly a few days from now.)

Suggestions removed from SD menu

As of this week I can no longer see Suggestions under Now Showing on the SD menu on one of my two Premieres. Of course, they are viewable on the HDUI side. Called Tivo and was told this was part of the plan to reduce support for the SDUI menus. Soon, they said, my other TIvo would also lose the Suggestions on the SD side. I don't see any references to this issue on the Forum - did I miss something?

As has been repeated elsewhere many times, there are many of us (older types) who have trouble with the smaller fonts on the more-cluttered HD menus. I guess we are no longer a demographic that Tivo cares about. So sad - I've had Tivos for 15 years but in terms of usability as far as I'm concerned they've lost their way.

So Gordon doesn't have AIDS or MS. He's got Chronic Toxic Encephalopathy. The doctor said it's brain damage that has no cure and is likely to get worse.

Cameron continues to act like a baby about Joe, Gordon, Donna, her company, etc. It's a wonder she's been able to keep things going this long.

When Gordon's kids were playing Super Mario Bros., I expected Gordon to walk in there and see it and freak since the graphics are so far and away ahead of what Mutiny is doing. Cameron and the rest of the Mutiny crew always talk badly about "cartridge" games, but the NES was a big leap forward and it will be interesting to see how they incorporate that into the story.

I don't get why Joe's fiancé was acting that way. What did Joe do that made her mad? It's not like he'd been having secret meetings with Cameron. In fact, he'd gone out of his way to avoid contact with her.

will refurbed (tivo-renewed) roamios have new HDs?

I just ordered a refurb (tivo-renewed) base Roamio from their summer sale and it's delivering tomorrow.

Tivo's website doesn't have any documentation on what their refurbishment entails so I'm asking here:
What are the chances that their refurbished units have new hard drives? Or are they using refurbished drives from the manufacturer (WD or Seagate)?
Should I swap in a brand new HD just to be sure?

Falling Skies Season 5 (Spoilers)

Glad the show is back, though for some reason I thought it was done. I enjoy the show, and enjoyed season 4, though my memory of the ending is sketchy (as I mentioned elsewhere, being an easy going TV watcher makes me easy to please, that and other things :))

I haven't watched the first episode yet, I did not even realize it was back until I saw a review on Den of Geek. Wanted to make this post so others did not miss it. Probably will wait until the season is done then go for the binge.

Season Passes not recording

We were away from home last week and many of our season passes didn't record on our P4. I figured it was storms and power outages - which get get a lot of.

I just installed a new Roamio and transferred season passes and while they all show up - some are active, in the To Do list, while others just simply don't check off the shows they are supposed to be recording. I literally go into the Season Pass (1Pass) manager and see the show there with the correct options - check for upcoming episodes and see the new ones listed to run without being checked off. :(

All I can do is delete them all one by one and add them back in unless anyone has a better idea?

Transferring between 2 boxes - interrupting consequences

I have a new Roamio and am in the process of transferring a large number of shows from our P4 over to it.

During the changeover of our cable card I now find it necessary to cycle the power on everything. Will my ongoing transfers in the queue be wiped out - resumed - or "other"?

Add Reverse sortby to You-tube options

I use TIVO's you-tube applet to watch you-tube series and one feature that would be REAL handy is to allow some sorting of subscribed You-tube playlists. If I'm just starting a long playlist, it's great to be positioned at the start of the playlist but by the time I get to the 20th episode or so I'm REALLY wanting to reverse the sort order for that playlist. Of course keeping track of where I am in a playlist and positioning me there next time I'm viewing would be great too.

Defiance 2015 Season **SPOILERS**

Anyone watching this. Its not the greatest Sci Fi in the world but its not too bad. I'm catching up on the episodes and in one of them I just broke out laughing! Its where Linda Hamilton, who I believe plays Rafe's estranged wife, is trying to help someone escape when she reachs out with her hand and says: "Come with me if you want to live!" This is when I broke out laughing!

For those of you who are not familiar with this phrase, its from several of the Terminator movies, the first two of which stared Hamilton. In each case someone (or something, in the second movie) wants to help her escape the bad guy and uses that exact phrase to which she responds by accepting the help. It was also used in some of the other Terminator movies but without Hamilton. But to hear her say that exact phrase to someone else I though was great!!

Tivo Online with TWC (and Mac)

I'm a long time Tivo subscriber and have been looking forward to receiving my Roamio Plus tomorrow, especially after the announcement of Tivo Online for streaming to household Macs.

But I've now read about TWC's copy once protection on almost everything, so I contacted Tivo, first by email and then by 2 phone calls to get the answer to this question: will I be able to use Tivo Online to send Time Warner programs to my Macs, i.e. is it streaming and thus not subject to the copy once limitation, or is Tivo's implementation of Tivo Online the equivalent of a second copy, meaning Tio Online would be virtually useless to me, since almost all Time Warner content would not be available?

Tivo customer service replied by email that "You will not be able to stream to your Mac at all. We do not currently have any software that allows that."

I stopped reading there and phoned Tivo, where the first rep agreed that was true, even after I read her Tivo's press release for Tivo Online.

When she transferred me to a supervisor, the supervisor also was not initially aware of whether a Mac could use Tivo Online. Ultimately, she told me she "didn't see any reason why not". But, as for the answer to my original question: is Tivo's implementation of Tivo Online a stream, or a second copy, within the scope of TWC's copy protection - she had no answer. She also told me that I couldn't speak to someone at a higher level for 24-48 hours - after my Tivo is due to arrive.

I even made another call, thinking I might get a more knowledgable rep - but no such luck - no clue either. And it's also interesting that when I ordered my Tivo, I got a customer survey before I received order conformation. Now, about an hour after my first call, no customer survey.

Anyone have knowledge about this? Thanks!

Time Warner Cable Digital Adapter/TIVO help needed

I used to get my TWC starter cable from the wall into the tivo.
Now I have to run it through a mandadated digitial adapter.
The cable comes from the wall.. into the adapter.. and into the tv with an HDMI cable.
However, none of those starter channels are now recognized by my tivo. I can no longer record them or activate them through the TIVO (premiere version.)

Does anyoneo have any insight on how to help? My antenna just isn't cutting it.

Is there some sort of splitter than can helP?

Group folder keeps appearing - one pass canceled

I've been having a problem with my Roamio recently. I have two folders (groups) that keep reappearing - Mad Men and Aquarious. I have cancelled both one passes already. When the folders appear they are always empty. I delete them, and then a day or two later they reappear. ?? It's kinda annoying. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Weird Gremlins lately. Is it my Roamio or my A/V Receiver?

Lately some very strange things have been happening. I'll focus on the main problem. My system is a tivo roamio, an onkyo a/v receiver, and a sony tv.

Sometimes when I turn off my system with the tivo remote, it works fine. Other times nothing happens at all. Most commonly, the AVR turns off and the tv stays on, and nothing I do except unplugging the tv power cord will get it to go off. Even the power button on the tv itself is "locked out".

I've tried new batteries, changed all of the HDMI auto-on/off settings I can find on the tv and the receiver, I've unplugged everything and reconnected it. All to no avail. I'm out of ideas. Help!

Nurse Jackie series finale *spoilers* - S7E12 - "I say a little prayer"

I thought it was a great season, but disappointed in the finale a bit. I hate when they "leave things up for interpretation".

Of course a happily ever after wouldn't be in line with the way the series has gone, but if they are going to have her OD at the end, then have some closure...have her connected to monitors and flatline,, then fade to black.

First few seasons were fantastic with 4,5&6 pretty bad....they really came back in this season for the finale though. Loved Tony Shaloub's character...great addition to the cast...wish he had been on the last few seasons.

Enjoyed it overall and knew it was time to phase it out. Just wish they hadn't done an almost Soprano's ending, leaving the audience guessing

Moca Setup for Roamio Basic OTA?????

I bought a Tivo Roamio Basic OTA several months ago w/ a Tivo Mini for my bedroom. I still have not figured out how to set up the Moca so I can use the Mini. Very frustrating! There really are no pictures to be found for the setup!

I have coax, cable modem, router, and Roamio all within feet of each other. I already have the Moca adapter (actually 2...long story). I do not get where I am supposed to hook my coax to, my HD OTA antenna to, the coax from the Romaio to and the ethernet to. There seems to be more connections than I have outlets for. This seems like it should be a simple setup and it is giving me fits? The Tivo Tech Support has been no help at all. Can someone please help me out? My Tivo Mini is right next to the coax outlet so once I get this @@@@ setup figured out the rest should be easy.

OnePass "Record": Not Available for Streaming

Currently, OnePass include the following settings, among a few others...

Include: Recordings, Streaming or both
Start from: Season #, or New episodes only
Rent of Buy: Include or don't
-----
Record: New, or "New & repeats"
...

Unfortunately, OnePass' current implementation fails to take advantage of the existence of streaming episodes, potentially recording duplicated content -- that is, recording episodes that are already available via a configured streaming service.

I'd like to see OnePass updated to allow for restricting recording of content to only those episodes not already available via a streaming service.

I hope it's not...I think Farrell is great (and McAdams). Kitsch, it's hard to tell...he barely even seems to be there. And Vaughn just doesn't have the weight to be the kind of heavy he wants to be here.

But the scenes with Farrell and McAdams are excellent. I was looking forward to them getting ever deeper into the mess. But I guess even if he is alive, he'll be spending most of the season in a hospital bed...

Download Desktop Movies to Roamio Pro From Mini

Just received my replacement equipment from Tivo for my old Series 2 equipment, 1 Tivo Roamio Pro and a 3 Tivo Minis. Have setup Roamio except for Cable Card (broke) and have it working with my Tivo Desktop 2.8.3 just fine. I can also see the Series 2 devices I have not yet disconnected.

However, I cannot find a way to tell the Roamio to download a movie from the Desktop when I am at the Mini. Called Tivo today and they say you cannot do this. In my near dozen calls over the last 3 weeks to Tivo prior to placing the order I asked this question several times and was told I could do this. Did I get bad I get bad information / misunderstand?

What's up with Mr. Robot odd position always at the top in My Shows? Is this some of strange advertising that USA arranged with TiVo??? :confused:

I recorded it (via OnePass) on Wed, haven't watched it yet, and despite there being only 1 episode (which usually doesn't create a folder), it's in a folder "Mr. Robot [1]", and the really strange thing is that every day the date on that folder updates to today's date and that folder stays at the top of My Shows (when sorted by date), even while much newer shows are recording (they shows below it while recording)! :eek:

Still NO Plex or IHeart Radio???

Hi,
I just wanted to inform others who have still not been able to get Plex or IHeart Radio to show up on their Tivo devices, that, I was informed by Tivo support that this is one of those "permissions" issues similiar to the problem with getting Netflix to work. If you have tried the reboots and forced connections to Tivo and still have no Plex, you will probably need to call Tivo Support and then be prepared for about a week to get the permissions fixed as the normal support folks can identify this issue, they have to forward it to "engineering" people to go in and fix it.
I tried the reboot/ forced connection numerous times without success, sent an email, which was never responded to, and finally called to get the above information. I was told to expect a fix by the end of this coming week.
Apparently, this issue is by the device, not by your "account" as I have several V2 minis and a couple Premieres which got the update but not my Roamio +, or any of my V1 minis.
Anyway, if you are still not getting Plex to show up, you might want to call Tivo and ask them to check the "permissions" on the problem device(s).

Tivo for OTA content (HD or Roamio basic)

Assuming I have a Roamio Plus for Cable content and a Tivo HD for OTA content - should I replace the Tivo HD with a Tivo-renewed Roamio basic with the $400 lifetime deal?

I see two advantages - an additional 2 OTA tuners and support for Tivo Online. In addition, I guess if I purchased a Tivo Mini in the future, the basic Roamio would have its tuners available too. I don't have android or apple devices but do have PC's in two rooms so the new Tivo Online looks like a great way of watching TV there without a Mini. I know the mini works great with a TV but it's not always convenient to put a TV everywhere. The SD HDHome View application works well in those locations currently.

Is there any additional integration from the Roamio Plus interface for the Roamio basic that I wouldn't have on the Tivo HD? I believe file transfers for Tivo Multi-Room Viewing (MRV) work the same for both the HD and the Roamio. Tivo Desktop should work with both the HD and the Roamio. I know nothing about Plex but assume that whatever Tivo did this month was a client to get additional content to the Tivo and not a server setup to distribute Tivo content to other devices so should be a non-factor.

I currently have WMC with both OTA and Cablecards and am considering alternatives because of lack of Windows 10 support.

Upgrade from Premier (2 ch) ?

We have a 2 channel Tivo Premier acquired in 2011. Content is over-the-air and not cable. We also have a Tivo Stream that is handy for sending content to our tablets. We keep the premier hard drive at about 50-60% full most of the time.

What would be the better choice Roamio OTA or Roamio? The only difference I can see is that the Roamio also offers cable integration. Are there any other features that are not present in Roamio OTA?

Can an external hard drive be added to either device?

I have been reading many posts regarding what needs to be done to hopefully recover my premiere's HD data, my wife wants to try and recover all of her shows.

I understand the general scheme:
An imaging run and maybe a copy run using DVR bars and would kindly ask for help with an image for this model.

This is my first Tivo HD fail and I have been a TIVO user since 2002 or so. So this is my first real venture into really fixing a unit on my own.

I have a 1 TB upgrade WD from newegg on the way ($61) and know I will eventually need another tool to expand the drives useful size w/ jmfs.

Current vs Previous TiVo Mini Model For Use with Roamio OTA?

I just purchased the Roamio OTA and have it set up in our master bedroom. After a couple of weeks I plan to get the Mini to be able to view programming and share recordings on the DVR in our den, assuming we are still pleased with the TiVo at that time. The older model Mini is available for about $40 cheaper than the current version and I'm wondering what reasons besides the RF remote I might want to consider spending the extra $$$ for the latest one. I will be using mainly a Harmony universal (IR) remote in the den so suspect the RF feature may be a waste, unless for some reason I decide to swap the Roamio/Mini locations later on.

Roamio OTA IR Remote Dead After 1 Day?

I purchased the Roamio OTA at Best Buy yesterday as our gateway to cord-cutting from Dish and initially everything was going smoothly. This morning I followed the instructions for programming the TiVo remote to operate the power and volume of our Vizio TV and that was also working well for a few minutes. After testing the power and volume buttons a few times I noticed that the remote seemed to freeze up with a solid amber light showing. It would not respond so I simply removed and reinserted the batteries. This seemed to get it working again, but the second time it happened I once again pulled and replaced the batteries. This time the remote become unresponsive and no more red or amber lights would flash when pressing buttons. I tried to reset using the hold Tivo+TV Power buttons, as well as the other suggested combinations of Tivo+C, etc...but the solid red light never comes on at all no matter what I do. I have also tried 3 different sets of fresh batteries just to be sure.

I contacted Tivo support and they are sending a replacement remote but I am concerned that this might happen again since it was working fine before programming it for the TV. The new unit will be here next week and in the meantime I will try to rely on the iOS app to control the Roamio. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

pixellation and Fail 7

I've been noticing some minor pixellation when watching shows on my Roamio of late. Last night I did a kickstart 54 and all the short tests ran fine. But the conveyance test (surface scan?) gave a "Fail 7" about 75% of the way in. The HD is one that I upgraded immediately after buying the Roamio about a year and a half ago:

So was just hoping for a little guidance so I can make sure everything is fully functional. My questions are:

1. Does the "fail 7" mean I should definitely replace the drive ASAP?
2. Are the WD AV models still a good option?
3. WinMFS or MFSLive are still the preferred options for backups, restores and upgrades?

Appreciate the help, we love our TiVo and want to keep it running :D

Save Recordings from Damaged Tivo?

I have a previous thread going regarding a Fried Roamio that I am attempting to repair.

Assuming that is unsuccessful, is there any way to transfer the saved recordings off the failed Tivo? Assuming, of course, that the hard drive is still functional.

To add a little wrinkle to the problem, I was using an external tivo expander as well so the recordings are spread across the two drives.

I'm out of luck, aren't I?

Streaming Movies folder under TV Series

Was watching an episode of X-Files on Netflix and after it was over I returned to the My Shows and TV Series folder, there was a new subfolder, Streaming Movies inside. There are no shows listed in this folder and its not the same as the Streaming Movies folder you can find under all shows.

Anyone else see this recently? I have a Roamio Plus running 20.4.7a.

The movie JOHN WICK is on HBO tonight

John Wick is a revenge movie that is thin on plot and dialog (especially for Keanu Reeves' character) but I did really like the movie. Has a lot of violence and Adrianne Palicki showed she can kick a$$ with guys. Plus it has some cars you'll want to own.

Now on HBO. Recommended.

Fried Roamio

Any insights here?

We had a lightning storm which took out our Roamio Pro. When plugged in the fan runs and it sounds as though the drive is starting up (possibly) but that's it. Other than the blue and red lights flashing once the front panel is dark and there is no output from the HDMI port.

I purchased a power supply from Weaknees and swapped it in but no change. Any idea what else might be causing the trouble?

It was fun checking out all the names on that wall and realizing just how many characters this show has killed off since the start.

Mini Only Gets UHF Channels When TV Connected To Roamio is Turned On

I tried to find a previous thread on this, but didn't see the unique situation mentioned.

Last month I lived on the other side of town, with a set up of a TV Roamio basic , OTA, hardwired ethernet into my router, and a moca network set up for my Mini in the bedroom. This all worked great.

Since I moved, things haven't been so great. I couldn't place my Roamio near my router, so I bought another Moca adapter and now both Roamio and Mini are connected via Moca. Seems to be working okay.

My antenna signal isn't as good here, but still good enough that I receive most channels without issue. There are two VHF channels that are harder to get on my Roamio.

However, I have been having a very difficult time receiving live TV channels on my Mini. I can watch recordings and Netflix just fine. However when I go to watch live tv, strangely opposite to my Roamio I only get the two VHF channels in well. I receive a v53 error on the others.

Then I noticed that when the main TV and Roamio are on, the channels magically come in! As soon as that TV is turned off, the UHF channels stop coming in on the Mini. It's really strange. I don't know how to go about "fixing" this issue. I'd prefer not to have to needlessly turn on the living room TV every time I want to watch TV in the bedroom.

A simple but handy multiroom suggestion

I love the ability to pause a show in one room and resume watching in another, but the process of doing so is a little bit cumbersome IMO. I have 2 Romeos and 2 Minis and if I am watching something and want to continue somewhere else, I hit pause, go to the other room, remember which Roameo the show was recorded on, navigate through a huge list to find the same show I was watching, select it, and then press resume.

I think it would be really cool that when you press the pause button, a menu should pop up giving you the option to resume playing on another TiVo. When you do this, and turn on the other TV, a dialog will be showing "Resume playing show XXXXXXXX" and one button press would get you right back where you were. I think small intuitive functionality things like this is what provides the greatest joy in user experience.

It would also solve another problem. When I press pause on one TiVo, then resume watching on another box, the show stays "paused" on the first Tivo. If I finish watching the show on the second unit, I cannot delete the show because the first one is technically still "watching it". I found I have to leave the show paused to resume in another room because if I stop the show by pressing the "Tivo button" or "Live TV" on the first box, the system very often forgets where in the show I was and I only get the option to "Play Show" and not "Resume Playing".

Should I Activate Mini Ahead of Roamio Delivery?

My Roamio is in transit... shipment tracking shows that it should show up this coming Tuesday... Because I bought it direct from TiVo, I believe the box is activated upon shipment...

The status on my account shows that the activation has been submitted, but is currently pending...

A friend of mine told me that I should activate my TiVo Mini now, ahead of receiving my Roamio so that it becomes usable immediately when I put everything together when I get the main unit.

What do you all think? Is it beneficial for me to activate my TiVo Mini ahead of receiving my Roamio?

As I speculated in the last thread, I wonder if there were "volunteers" being thawed out at various intervals all throughout the time and their task was to secure and maintain the Ark until the appointed time for the rest to thaw out.

Interesting that there was a whole previous Group A that couldn't handle the truth, and so that's why everything is so secretive this time.

So Kate and her husband are plotting to escape and potentially blow up a section of the fence. That's definitely not going to end well.

I wonder what's so special about Plot 33 that it's just a fenced-in vacant lot in the middle of a bunch of houses.

Waiting two weeks for this episode sucked. I can't believe it's already over and I've got to wait another week for the next one.

Is extraction of video files from Premiere drive to PC possible over SATA/USB?

I am pretty sure that the answer to this is no, but there is a surprising lack of clear and recent information when I search on this topic.

Is it possible to take the hard drive from a TiVo Premiere, attach it to a PC via SATA, and then use some MFS-related tools to mount and/or extract encrypted recordings from the drive's filesystem to the PC?

Software such as kmttg (and others) can download encrypted recordings from a powered on TiVo, so wouldn't what I am asking about also be possible in principle? Is it just that no one has successfully reverse engineered the current MFS?

Or is there some kind of onboard security infrastructure in the TiVo's motherboard that would make this impossible? I have my MAK.

I am really just trying to retrieve my recordings from a repaired/recovered hard drive without having to put it back into my TiVo. So it is mostly for convenience, but it seems this would also be useful if the TiVo itself is broken or unable to boot.

Tivo Moca adapter not working

I have a Roamio and I bought a Tivo Mini as well and got the Moca adapter.

I've set it up correctly and called tivo to verify as well. Long story short the COAX light will not come on. Is there any advice? I am not able to do anything with the Mini as a result...

After I verified the setup with Tivo I had one rep say the adapter might be bad? Thanks that's true? I'm leaning towards that will just be a waste of time...

Cannot delete streaming episodes

Recently I can no longer delete episodes from the My Recordings view of a streaming OnePass. This is happening for both a Netflix series as well as Amazon Prime. This worked in the past. I already tried a reboot but didn't help. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

Help programming Harmony 880 for Toshiba SD-H400?

I know, old hardware all around, but please, can anyone help here?

When I tell the Harmony software that I have a Toshiba SD-H400, it sets it as a "Media Center PC." Then, when I want to program a "watch TV" function, it tells me "you don't have any devices that can change channels."

Does anyone know a workaround for this? Is there another device I should be telling the remote I have instead of the SD-H400?

Killjoys - Season 1 (2015) **spoilers**

I have to admit, I liked this show more than I thought I would. The budget is clearly very small, but I think they did a decent job with the effects and sets. Overall, I liked the pilot for this show more than the pilot for Dark Matters. What do you guys think?

Failure to record audio

Two straight evenings I recorded the local news and it failed to record any audio. Went to the channel live and audio was fine. Checked every tuner and audio was fine on each. Any ideas? Roamio Plus.

OnePass issues

I have about 35 OnePasses set up. Generally, everything works perfectly. However, on certain shows even though I can set up a OnePass and modify options, they don't work--they don't record and they do not show up in the ToDo List.

Specifically, I created OnePass for Vera and Last Tango in Halifax this week to record only recordings, and OnePass finds the channel (710) and sets up the OnePass. Nothing ever shows in the ToDo List. Based on previous experience these shows will not record.

I have tried various OnePass options, reordering, nothing works. If I go to Guide and set an individual episode of one of these shows to record, it does show up in ToDoList and will record.

Any ideas about how to fix this?

Multiple TiVo Roamios vs. TiVo Mini

With the new sale in effect, I am wondering if there are benefits to having two Roamios networked together (you can do that, right?), as opposed to a Roamio/Mini set-up.

I just paid about $800 for a lifetime TiVo Roamio Pro and TiVo Mini set-up.

What if I added a basic TiVo Roamio (with lifetime) instead of the TiVo Mini? Yes, it would raise my costs, but are there any benefits for me doing so? The longer term benefit is that I would own at least one lifetime box with OTA capabilities if I decide to cut the cord at some point.

Or, heck...maybe I save even more money by returning my Roamio Pro during the 30-day money back guarantee period and get two basic Roamios with lifetime and upgrade the drives later...

Move hard drive from one Roamio to another

If I move my hard drive from one Roamio basic to another Roamio basic, will I keep my recordings? Or will it reformat?

I just purchased my Roamio (Best Buy), 2TB WD hard drive, and lifetime subscription $499.99 a couple weeks ago. Now they have a reduced price $349.99 for the lifetime subscription, but you only get that discount if you buy the Roamio from TiVo. I would like to move that hard drive to new Roamio but don't want to lose recordings. Perhaps it's not worth jumping through all these hoops just to save $150...

Hard Drive Sounds Like a Cricket?

I was taking a nap in my living room recently when I thought I heard the faint sound of a cricket. How did one get into my house in the middle of the day?

It turned out that it was the sound of my TiVo hard drive. Although it was kind of a quiet and soothing sound...good for a nap...I am not quite sure if this is the beginning of the end of my 4 5 year old Premiere...

Wall mounting a stream?

I'm looking to revamp my network equipment arrangement and was wondering if there were any limitations to wall mounting my Tivo Stream. There is no mention of it in any manual or forum. Just wondering if anyone has tried it and what did you use? Velcro? Double sided tape?

Spinning Blue Circle, Anyone?

Over the last few days, every time I navigate to the show info page of a recorded program, I get a spinning blue circle for several seconds. I found mention of it in a few threads here from a couple years ago, which suggested rebooting the TiVo and/or rebooting the router. I've done both, but no change.

Any other ideas?

ETA: This is a TiVo Premiere XL, if it matters.

Streaming titles incorrectly show "available"

Here's one I have not seen before......

The NPL on my Roamio basic shows 13 "Nightly Show" entries. They are a mix of actual recordings and streaming entries.

All the streaming titles show as "available"..... the streaming indicator is teal colored, not grayed out.

All 13 titles display the "new" indication.

However.....

1. The NPL folder for the Nightly Show shows there are six new shows, but there are 13 entries inside that folder and ALL 13 show the "new" indication and show as available (indicator is not grayed out).

2. Only the last eight titles are playable. The rest show as "not currently available" in the lower right corner of the screen when you select them, in spite of the fact that the indicator is NOT grayed out like it should be if the title is known but not available.

Anyone else see this? Anyone have any idea where the Tivo gets the information it uses to determine if a streaming program (Comcast VOD in this case) is available or not?

Note that I have had the Tivo try to play a VOD title it thinks is available but it (or Comcast) has the wrong filename.... the error you get is in a separate error box and I think comes from Comcast. In this case, the indicator implies the title is available but the Roamio itself thinks it is not when you select it.

And just in case, I rebooted. No change.

Does anyone know if Tivo reads this forum regularly? Is this an adequate way to communicate issues like this? I have absolutely ZERO confidence that speaking with Tivo support on the phone will accomplish anything. Every time I try, the person I speak with A) has never heard of the issue before and B) lames absolutely everything possible EXCEPT an actual Tivo software or server issue.

Deleting streaming episodes within a show's folder

I set up a OnePass for The Americans earlier this year. It's set as streaming & recording. It recorded all the S3 episodes that aired this past spring and shows me S1 and S2 episodes as available for streaming (via Amazon Prime). The view is "My Episodes."

I've been deleting the streaming episodes as we've watched them but something happened recently whereby the streaming episodes will not delete. I've tried both deleting them by hitting clear on the episode title itself and/or selecting "Delete" when I'm in the long-description screen of a particular episode. Anyone else experience this and figure out how to solve it?

I've already rebooted (twice) and tried to delete the episodes via the Tivo App on my Android phone with no luck. The problem started last week when the Tivo (this is a Premiere) got in to some state where it thought it had no internet connection and it removed all of my video providers. After a day or two in that state, it somehow "fixed" itself although obviously there are still lingering problems (i.e. this one).

I haven't yet attempted to delete the OnePass because I don't want my recordings to go away. Does deleting a OnePass when there are recordings in the My Shows folder do anything to those recordings? If I then add the OnePass back in, will those recordings be integrated back in to the new OnePass entry? I don't want to introduce more complications to the Tivo at this point as losing the video providers for just a day or two royally sucked.

Desktop Interupted Transfers After Windows 8.1 Upgrade

Hi all, this is my first post. Quite unintentionally, I upgraded my PC from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 via Windows Store last week. Immediately afterward, TiVo Desktop HNP stopped being able to transfer programs to my PC. It can see the programs on both my TiVos, seems to be about to transfer, and then says Some Transfers Have Been Interrupted. Reason is: The Specified File Cannot Be Found.

I have checked many threads on this awesome site, and tried several things. I removed the original TiVo Desktop using the TiVo Cleaner, and re-installed it. I have restarted my PC and TiVos in various orders, and waited for a couple of days. No change. My two Series 3 TiVos can transfer to each other, and also download from my PC. I have tried connecting to my TiVos directly on the internet via TiVo login and my MAK, and these work [but download is terribly slow, and apparently violates my HNP agreement].

In the meantime, I did the same thing on my partner's Windows 8 laptop, and can still transfer files with the identical Desktop HNP. However, my TiVos cannot see the laptop, so I would have to transfer shows to the laptop, move to a disk, copy to my PC, and then transfer back to the TiVos when I want to watch. I would rather be able to use my own PC directly.

Finally, the PC running Windows 8.1 also cannot play my TiVo files any longer!

I know there was a problem with curl.conf and outdated cookies previously based on another thread, and I checked that and used their recommended curl.conf file. No effect.

I can't see anyone else having a problem with Windows 8.1 on this website, so I am hoping that maybe I just have a simple setting error?? If anyone could help, I would much appreciate it. I use Firefox, rather than IE, and maybe there are some underlying Windows privacy settings?? My Windows 8 knowledge is somewhat limited, I just use it. Otherwise, I think I might just have to access some outside help to revert to Windows 8...:(

Remote layout change

It's too late for the Series 5 and Slide Pro, but maybe TiVo would consider rearranging the Thumbs buttons on future remotes so they're in more logical & convenient locations, similarly allowing the Mute and RECord buttons to be in better locations.

The current locations seem painfully odd to me. Why wouldn't the Mute button be vertically aligned with the Volume Up/Down rocker, and, similarly, why not align RECord w/ the Channel Up/Down rocker. This would allow the Thumbs buttons to be side-by-side, easily located by touch beneath the Guide button and navigation dial.

New show Mr Robot on USA - one pass failed showed duplicate

This new series started today and I had a one pass set up for it..
It did not record. When I looked under history, it had the first showing and the repeat both marked as duplicate. The repeat was broadcast right after.

Anyone else have this show failed to be recorded? Next weeks episode is in my todo list. Luckily there are a lot of rebroadcasts of the first episode.

Mini on main tv

I currently have Comcast internet. For a small increase in price (and a number of below the line fees), they will greatly increase my internet speed and "throw in" their digital starter tv package.

My only cable outlet is in the office where my cable modem is. I don't want to have them add another outlet.

I was thinking of having a Roamio in the office and a Mini (on ethernet) at my main tv in the living room.

I think this would work but am I likely to be frustrated using the Mini as my main access?

TIVO and file size

So I had the lowest memory Ipad 1 (!), which could not deal with more than about 10 or so episodes being loaded on it for travel... I decided I wanted to get a Surface 3, which obviously has a lot more memory than an Ipad 1. But now I'm downloading shows using the Tivo Desktop plus and they appear to be really giant in size... like 7GB for an hour-long show, which eats up the memory very quickly. A big reason I wanted to do this was to take a lot of episodes with me on a 3-week long trip abroad. So I feel like I totally failed here. Is there anything that can be done? Any way to shrink the files? Are the TivoDesktop files for a single episode that much larger than an episode downloaded using the Ipad TIVO app?

Please help, keeping in mind that I am not very astute in terms of computers and the like.

Channel Unavailable

We've just made the switch to Time Warner Cable (TWC) in Los Angeles. When searching through the channels we receive, I get a message on the screen from TiVo saying "Channel is temporarily unavailable...". While this message is on screen there is also blue bar on the top of the screen showing the name of the channel and the channel number as Tivo would do for any channel.

This occurs with several channels.

What's happening and what can I do about it?

New Tivo user Setup

Okay, I finally caved in and ordered a Tivo Roamio Plus with lifetime today. I have 2 TV I want to use, I can just order a Tivo Mini and be set right?

I can also get rid of my Roku 3 player as the Tivo Mini would be able to play netflix, amazon Prime, HBO go right?

Is there any other equipment I need? My cable is Optimum so I need to contact them to get a cable card for the Roamio? Does Optimum program the card and just mail it to me or do they need to send a a guy to install?

I'll be looking to replace the HD as well, but that appears to be pretty simple from the other thread, I'm assuming it best to do it before I record anything since nothing transfers over.

If I cut the cord on optimum, which might be the plan a few months down the line the shows that i recorded I would still be able to watch? I'm thinking about recording about 30 hours of kid shows before I cut the cord so I have access to a few shows that the kid watches that not on Netflix.

TiVo Mini Stuttering

About 2-3 times a day my TiVo Mini is stuttering for 1-2 seconds. I have it hooked up via MoCA to my Roamio Pro.

I can't think of anything else to check. Should I expect a stutter free Mini or is this to be expected with a network connected client?

Problem completing order on Tivo website

Hi All,

I am trying to order a Roamio and Mini directly from the Tivo website. I go through the entire process, but when I press the final button to complete the order, I get this error message:

"We are facing technical issues at the moment. Please try again later."

I waited a number of hours and tried again as they suggested, with no success.
Is the Tivo website havings problems? Anyone have this happen and eventually get the order to go through?

Rumors got me debating entering the Tivo world

So here’s a ongoing debate I have been having with myself (i.e. in my own overly analytical head). So what better place to come to than a forum to get some useful insight...and I'm sure some chastising :)

I have several TV viewing choices I’m currently debating. Factors include the usual buy in price, months subscription fees, and others like ease of use for the whole family (i.e. senior parent and visiting family members), integration w/ streaming services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. The outlying factor is what I would call “scaleability”. Particullary complicated by the rumors/news of these two biggies.

1. The pending July 2015 announcement from Tivo regarding the new services/equipment offerings that will utilize their recent acquisition of Aereo.
2. The ever pending/delayed rumor of a new AppleTV that may have streaming of local network TV.

Since these things are only RUMOR at this point in time I thought I would throw it out to the Tivo Coffee House to get some seasoned Tivo owners thoughts. I’m a new TCF member and have already seen that there are some folks here that have been involved in cord-cutting/shaving for many years and many for over a decade.

So what are your thoughts on “scaleability” given the (2) rumors listed above:
Should a prospective Tivo newbie invest hundreds in a Roamio + Lifetime that will take 2-3 years to break-even?

Particularly what are your thoughts for someone like me.

• cannot get OTA where I am
• cannot forego live sports or live network tv news. So I’ll be a cord-shaver for the time being.
• local options are limited to Cox and Directv here in Orange County, CA.

*I'm not hating on Tivo, actually I really like the Tivo product and service, but mostly concerned if there are big changes coming to the streaming local TV segment that could, for the first time, move me from cord-shaver to cord-cutter (again I do not live in an area where an antenna can get me local tv).

Show recorded without my action

On Tuesday at 1am (mountain time) my TiVo recorded a show that I didn't select for recording. Channel 747 OVATION HD on my local cable, "NOW: In the Wings on a World Stage".

1. I didn't record it.
2. It's in "My Shows", not "TiVo Suggestions".
3. No Thumbs-Up by it, as I would expect if I'd recorded it.
4. Although I can see the recording date/time by playing it and hitting Info, it's not in my recording history [TiVo Central/Manage Recordings/History].

I do have suggestions turned on, but those recordings are stored separately in in TiVo Suggestions. Not this show. It's in the main My Shows listing.

I suspect that our friends at TiVo made a deal with Ovation to auto-record this. Thoughts?

Roamio Remote vs Slide Roamio Remote

I was curious about the "feel" of the remotes. The remote that came with my Roamio has been dropped too many times, and has a crack in it, so I need to get another.

To that, I was wondering if the "feel" of the regular Roamio remote is any different from the version of the Roamio slide remote.

I've been a TiVo customer since 2000 and an original Series 2 model, and I've been through several versions of TiVo hardware (and remotes) (Series 2, DirecTiVo original, TiVoHD, Premiere, Roamio), so I'm familiar with the "feel" of these things.

To that, I was wondering how different the feel of the slide remote is from the main one. The functionality I get, and is why it's $20 more than the regular remote. BUt if I went that way, I was curious to know how different it would feel in my hand.

Easiest way to transfer a movie to Roamio??

I just want to send a video file to my Roamio. I've read that mp4 and mpg are compatible. I used to be able to use Tivo Desktop with my old HD, but it doesn't seem to show up on My Shows on the Roamio. Is there another way? Or am I just having some glitch with Desktop (running Windows 7)? Do I need to buy the $16 Desktop version? Thanks

Migrating from Comcast X1 DVR to TiVo Roamio

What is the right process for migrating from an X1 DVR to a TiVo Roamio without experiencing too much downtime?

I am going to try to give it a guess, and I'd love some feedback from those who have gone through the process properly...

1. Procure all TiVo hardware (Roamio + Mini)
2. Request and pick up CableCard from local Comcast office (keeping X1 hardware for the time being)?
3. Disconnect X1 Hardware
4. Connect TiVo Hardware
5. Provision CableCard via phone call to Comcast
6. Return X1 Hardware to local Comcast office

Is that about right? Can I keep the X1 hardware while I get my TiVo and CableCard provisioned?

Do I need to call and order my CableCard first, or do the local Comcast offices have CableCards ready for pick up on demand?

Upgrading from TivoHDs, which new hardware to buy?

Hello everyone,
I've been sifting through posts but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for, so I'm hoping someone won't mind giving me some guidance. I apologize for the rambling thread, but I haven't bought Tivo hardware in a long while. Any input will be most welcome.

I have 4 tivoHDs. I recently cancelled my Comcast service, after ongoing disputes about correct CableCard costs. (Despite years worth of $1.50 per card bills, they now assure me it should always be $9.95/mo for each additional "outlet", and that the $1.50 fee is just for charging you for extra tuner access when your first "free" outlet is an M-card.)

We are happy shifting to streaming services and OTA, at least for the summer. (It is a shame that SlingTV is so hamstrung by content companies.) But, I think there's a decent chance we go back to a simple cable package at some point. My TivoHDs are working fine, but some streaming services aren't available. And if I ever go back to Cable, having just one Roamio with a CableCard will nullify a lot of the hassle I encountered.

So, I'm interested in the new Roamio + Mini hardware. Before I buy anything (likely through Tivo, for any loyalty discount I get), I want to confirm what I should be aiming for.

1) I will definitely use OTA now, but may want to add cable in the future. Am I correct thinking that only the Roamio Basic or Roamio OTA handle OTA signal at all? If I want both OTA and cable, can I use a single Roamio Basic or do I need two Roamios? I like the additional tuners of the Roamio Plus, but I need OTA. I don't anticipate a lot of use for the streaming function, so that's not a huge draw for me.

2) If I eventually have two Roamios, do they play well together? Can I watch (stream/transfer) protected content from one Roamio on another? Are there any issues with having two of these devices?

3) If I have multiple Roamios, how well does a Mini work? Can I stream from both Roamios onto a single Mini? How does the reserving of tuners work with the Mini? Can I stream protected content from a Roamio to a Mini?

4) I use Tivo Desktop Plus to transfer movies to my home PC, remove commercials, and transfer back to the Tivo. Does this process work the same on a Roamio? I may just set up a Plex server, if that works well.

5) Should I be waiting for whatever is announced in July? I'm a bit worried about the lifetime service with Mini purchase deal going away, but maybe the July device announcement will be important for my OTA use.

MLB Function Recently Removed from System

I have a Tivo Premiere that had been preloaded with a number of streaming apps (netflix, amazon, etc.). One of the apps was the MLB.tv premium. Of these apps, I only used the Netflix and MLB for the last couple of years or so. Last weekend, I went to load the MLB app and it was not in my system. The last game I watched was about Tuesday or Wednesday of last week on this system. Something had removed it since then. I rebooted my system and nothing popped up.

Anyone else experience this? Know a fix?

How do I watch my Plex playlists? I don't see any way to view or play my playlists. Am I missing something?

TivoHD loops/hangs when accesing Roamio NPL

I had one or two stream-only OnePasses. I deleted all the streaming entries from the Romaio, and now it works just fine.

Battlebots 2015 entire season thread with spoilers

Was so excited to see this back.

I was surprised not only to see so many returning teams but so many returning robots...which kind of dissapointed me.

Seems like the arena is almost identical with the screws, hammers, and blades in the floor (which I assume will be turned on in later rounds).

Devdog mentioned screaming at Nightmare when he got flipped over...I did the same thing this season...which I also did 10 or 15 years ago when the same robot had the same problem! Learn a little. A simple "flipper" on the wheel would have worked.

That first robot was really destructive but it's achille's heel is that it needs time to spin up to speed. If a bot could get up on it quick, it might be able to flip it or something.

The Brink - S1E1 - "A World of Trouble" 6/21/15

I had seen/read nothing about this new HBO series and found myself disappointed/skeptical when Jack Black appeared on screen. Ugh. Him? Really?

I'm not a big Tim Robbins fan, but he played his character well enough. I do like Aasif Mandvi, so I decided to stick with it for the full/long 30 mins.

True Detective - S2E1 - "The Western Book of the Dead" 6/23/15

I'm surprised there's no thread yet.

I thought it was a good setup for the season. My only fear is that this bunch of characters are going to be too dark and don't have enough of a redeeming quality that it's going to be hard to "root" for someone to win. I guess that's the style today with shows like Breaking Bad, but for me, but I find it hard to watch if there's no character I care about at all. But the pilot was good and I'll let it flesh out. Last season it took about 4-5 episodes until it really piqued my interest. I thought this pilot was more interesting.

Audio stops working until reboot

Hi all! I've recently set up a new Tivo Roamio OTA + Mini setup. The Mini is connected to a new Samsung TV but we're having lots of problems where we get no audio until we power cycle the TiVo. No such problems with the Roamio.

If it matters, the TV is a SmartTV and is being used with other features like its built in Youtube app, plus it has a Chromecast connected to a different HDMI port. So it has other users. I don't know that this explains anything though.

Any suggestions on debugging? Thanks! Rebooting daily is not exactly a good experience!

TiVo Premiere app start times, how much faster is Roamio

Hi, I'm a little frustrated with the TiVo app startup times on my Premiere. I am wondering if Roamio is any faster. Here are my start times compared with Roku, which I tend to use to save time.

As you can see Vudu and YouTube on are par with Roku, but Amazon prime is a little slower, and Netflix is just horrible.

Splitters for Moca?

In trying to debug a brand new Moca set-up, I just had a TiVo support person tell me that I had to have 3Ghz splitters to make Moca work for the TiVo with the Actiontec adapter. Seems to run completely different than all other splitter info I had seen when researching Moca. What do the experts here have to say? Frankly, the location of the splitters in my house probably make Moca not an option in my house if that were really the requirement. Who can fill me in?

Channels seem to have shifted

I am currently having an issue with my TiVo Roamio and I was hoping I could get some advice. I have the basic Roamio (not OTA version) and use an antenna to receive my programming. For some reason recently, my channels 34-1 and 34-2 have moved to 34-3 and 34-4. When I check the signal strength, I still have 72% for both 34-1 and 34-2, but the picture is on 34-3 and 34-4. This would be fine, but the guide doesn't have any info for 34-3 and 34-4. I checked my DVR diagnostics and I am missing the Program Number and Program Lock for both 34-1 and 34-2. I am also getting the V53 error when I try to tune to them. My girlfriend has the same setup as me a few houses down and she is having the same issue. Is there anything I can do? I have done resets and redid my guided setup and it didn't help.

Roamio can't tune in channel, but TV can

Hi all,
I have a strange problem. I have a roamio basic connected OTA, no cable.
All equipment is connected to one antenna and everything used to work.
But, last night I was unable to tune in 34.1 and 34.2. I am
able to get those two channels using the tuner in two different TVs. I ran the rescan channels function and the roamio said it found 2 new channels 34.3 and 34.4. On 34.3 is the 34.1 programs and 34.4 has the 34.2 programs. All my other channels are working fine. I did a signal strength and there are signals on 34.1 and 34.2, just no picture.
To add to the confusion, my tivo hd is having the same problem with 34.1 and 34.2. And to add even more confusion, my friend with a tivo premiere on the next hill over is having problems with 34.1 and 34.2.
Normally I would think the problem is with the 34.1 and 34.2 signals. But I can't figure out why the tivo's are having problems but the tv tuners are not.

OnePass that cannot be deleted

Has anyone had a OnePass show that they cannot remove from their list, e.g. they've deleted it and it still is listed?

cTivo and watch shows on Tivo Roamio

I have just installed cTivo Version 2.1 (439) on my iMac running OS X 10.10.3. Everything seems to work except for the ability to watch shows that were previously recorded by cTivo from the Roamio. Under the Roamio devices, the Mac computer and cTivo are not shown. It was my understanding that the cTivo recorded shows should show up in the Devices section of My Shows with a cTivo icon.

Previously, I was using Tivo Desktop 2.8.3 as an application under Parallels to provide the Windows Virtual machine. Should I totally remove Tivo Desktop to ensure the ability to watch shows recorded by cTivo? Prior to installing cTivo, I was able to see the shows recorded by Tivo Desktop. However, this feature also seems to have disappeared.

What do I have to do to make this work?

Bad Netflix and Amazon data

Recently I've noticed some of my streaming 1Ps jumping to the top of the list for no reason or disappearing. This happened a couple weeks ago with Orange is the new black, then it corrected itself. Yesterday it happened with The Americans and Bosch. Both originally jumped to the top, but showed no episodes available then they disappeared. However if I launch the Amazon app manually both shows are still available. Showing none available I can understand, bad data happens, but why is the 1P not listed? It's still there if I search for the show, so the 1P isn't removed, it's just not listed in My Shows. Not even as an empty folder.

Database of TV models and peanut models

I have a TV that to this day I have not figured out what code will work. Westinghouse but not White Westinghouse. Probably a relabel of some large manufacturer.

The menus in set-up are determined by the latest down load I suppose, but the table is limited.

I'd like an on-line table for the more obscure TV models. No need to include it in an update.

Tivo Premiere and Shaw Direct satellite

stupid question that my searches didn't find an answer for, likely due to my wording:

can Tivo Premiere be used to record from a satellite receiver? I would assume an IR blaster would be needed? My receivers (Motorola - Shaw Direct, Canada) have both antenna and component outputs

if so, you'd just enter the Canadian postal code during setup?

Sick of Comcast

I have had them out 3 times just upgraded my package and I can't get the movie channels and they told me all they can do is get me another cable card and all the techs think that isn't going to fix it and say there is no new cable cards and they are All 5+ plus year old and they are unsure they are even going to get cable cards at their center and if they do they have no idea when. Soooo im trying to find out what the best cable company for tivo is where I can actually use everything like on demand and get the movie channels I'm sick of Comcast getting my money and nothing working that I am paying for I have the Lifetime service on my box and don't want to get rid of it but all Comcast is trying to do is keep pushing their crappy dvr box on me. :mad:
