Help! My Series 3 quit working.

HELP. My Series 3 quit working. "No Signal" is the result. So I tried several hard boots (i.e. remove power to the unit, wait 30 seconds, then plug power back in). I thought this was going to cure it because the regular opening TIVO screen came up, then after a short delay the normal "Don't worry, this takes a minute" message displayed. But......... then it never did continue the neat TIVO sound thing, nor did the little animated TIVO character ever show up. It simply didn't finish booting and after a minute or so the TV again reported "No Signal." Oddly the unit tried to reboot on it's own (that is without me unplugging and re-plugging the power) a couple of times. Alas, same result --- the initial TIVO screen came up, but it didn't then continue to the animated TIVO character, etc. Just returned to a "No signal" status.



My question is, what's the problem/solution? Has the box failed or just the hard drive? Are there some other solutions or diagnostics this fine group might suggest?
