I replaced my Tivo HD with a TiVo Roamio Plus HD Digital Video Recorder and Streaming Media Player (TCD848000) about three months ago.
About three weeks ago I ran into the following problem:
Live TV will play (audio and Video) for a minute and then the screen goes black and the audio dies. After 30 seconds, the picture and sound come back.
After a minute of picture and sound - they both die again for 30 seconds and so on and so on.
Tivo tech support says it's a signal problem - signal too strong or two high signal to noise ratio.
Time Warner Cable has adjusted the signal strength, worked on the pole, switched out the tuner adapter and, most recently, switched out the cable card.
Last time, the cable card switch out, I had two TWC cable guys in my house for about three hours. It worked for a while, but within a day - same old problem.
This has been going on for three weeks and I have had at least six calls to Tivo tech support and six TWC trouble calls - all to no avail.
The problem is intermittent, but the problem presents itself more than not.
If a recording is scheduled and the problem is present (most of the time) Tivo will record only a minute of the beginning of the program.
Playback of successfully recorded programs are fine although I have noticed lately that the "pause" and "fast forward" controls of the remote are sometimes sluggish to respond making whizzing through commercials difficult.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions.
