I've been thinking lately about how to reliably record a TV series that's already started without getting any duplicates. For instance, we like to record Untold Stories of the ER. So before OnePass, I had set up a season pass to record this with New and repeats. I've heard about the 28 day rule and seen it in action with new episodes when I first set up the Roamio. However, I also read that this applies to reruns as well, so if I record and watch one of my episodes, after 28 days it seems it might record that episode again if it airs.
First off, I'd like to know if this is true. I think I had assumed that the TiVo would remember all episodes it recorded for a season pass and not record them again (unless everything was selected...R.I.P.) instead of relying on the history it maintains for only 28 days.
Second, if this is true, does OnePass change this in any way? In other words, will it not attempt to record episodes I've deleted that are associated with this OnePass?
