Tivo Series 3 no longer working with Amazon Prime

Just got an email from Amazon offering $100 discount on an upgrade to a Roamio as it seems Prime will no longer work with Series 3 after April 15.

Don't see anything about this elsewhere in here, anyone know if this is Tivo refusing to upgrade software - making Tivo HD obsolete or Amazon making a change which genuinely cannot be ported back?
