Trying to save Toshiba sd-h400

I have a 10 year old Toshiba SD-H400. I have not used it in a few years but am relocating for work and living in an extended stay for a couple months so I decided to bring it and see if it would work. I plugged the unit in and to my surprise it turned right on. I was able to see the old Tonight Shows with Jay Leno that were saved from about 5 years ago. While attempting to reprogram the set-up and guide I accidently unplugged the unit. Now, when it starts it goes to a gray screen that says, "Powering up, then a screen that says "Almost there, then a “welcome” screen. The instructions say to press select to begin guide set-up but when I do that nothing happens. I’ve tried unplugging several times. Any suggestions?
