I am relocating for work and living in an extended stay type hotel for a couple months so I brought an old Series 2 unit with me hoping to be able to record shows but it wasn’t HD compatible. A friend a work gave me his old Series 3 and I have it hooked up now but something is odd.
When I run the cable from the hotel wall outlet to the TiVo unit the channels are not the same numbers as on the hotel TV. There was no box or anything the hotel is using, just straight regular cable from wall to the back of the TV.
Basically the local channels listed as “HD” specifically on the hotel line-up card now are showing up as 4-1, 5-1, 8-1, etc. instead of just 4, 5, 8 etc. The non HD cable channels are in the same order but different channel numbers and the HD cable channels are totally missing.
Any ideas how to get the TiVo channels to sink to hotel channels? I’m only missing a couple HD cable channels but it just seems odd that the hotel was running a straight cable to the TV and when I run the same cable to the TiVo the channels don’t match up
