Hello everyone,
I tried a search to address my situation, but I didn't see one that fully fit. I recently bought a Roamio and a Mini. I also have a modem/router combo that has no MoCa made by Ubee. ddw365 is the model number, since I cannot post links yet
I had no problems connecting the Mini to the Roamio via Ethernet connection, but I had to use a 50 ft CAT5 in order to reach the Ubee. Over the past week, the Mini has been losing signal 3 to 5 times daily. I was told by tech support that the 50 ft cord is degrading the signal too much and to try a MoCa set up.
That sounds like a decent suggestion, but here is my problem. All of the diagrams that I have seen show modem-MoCa adapter-router set-ups. Or, using modem/router combos with MoCa already built-in. Has anyone been successful in getting a MoCa network going using a modem similar to mine? Also, I'm not 100% sold that a 50ft cord is the real reason why I lose signal on the Mini. In the past, I have used cord at that length with lots of success. I apologize if this was already answered and I couldn't find it. :(
