I'm having an epidemic of TiVo problems. :(
Out of our 5 TiVos, really only two work working okay:
TiVo Premier working fine
One of our single tuner S2's working fine.
Two of our single tuner S2's out of commission, and I'm in the process of trying to replace the HD in one of them, but it's proving to be a long onerous process, which I'm still not done with
The latest is my TiVo HD. It sometimes freezes - i.e. some scene of some show is frozen in time, and none of my TiVo buttons will work. If I unplug the TiVo and let it reboot then it works fine, but then 24 to 48 hours I have to repeat this process.
What are the possible causes of this? Could it be the usual failing hard drive?
I never used to have all these TiVo problems, but I will say a few years ago we moved to a new neighborhood. I wonder if the electricity is of subpar quality here, causing these problems. But all 5 of our TiVos are on UPS's, so you'd think that would protect them.
