Currently I have a HTPC connected to a silicondust HDhomerun prime with Verizon fios service. I used to have a Tivo HD which I sold when I moved, prior to moving I was over-the-air and didn't think I would need it. Now the HTPC is great when it works properly. I was thinking about getting a roamio plus with either the veterans discount or lifetime service. Is there a lifetime service discount? Is the roamio plus overkill? Also I'm concerned with investing money in a cable card system that may not work once providers stop using cable cards. I really want the service and support I got from TiVo back but can anyone chime in regarding these issues. Thanks in advance
