Mini and Series 3 HD same room, Remote conflicts

Is there any way to have a Mini and S3-HD in the same cabinet. The mini (a newer model) set for RF. But the RF remote must still send IR as the Series 3 HD unit responds to it's buttons. And secondly the Mini will also respond to certain buttons on the HD remote. If I hide the mini then it does not respond to the HD remote, but unfortunatly the HD will still respond to the Mini remote. Guess it's time to start trimming down on some equipment
