Howdy. My partner and I are thinking of replacing our Comcast DVR with a Tivo Roamio, probably the mid-pack model with a HDD upgrade I'd do before I ever turned the unit on. We will also turn in the XF modem and buy our own.
Main question for others who've done this: Was it worth it? Did the Roamio offer features beyond sheer capacity the Comcast DVR did not?
We would buy the Roamio ourselves, independent of XF. Don't care to add any more to their margins. Same with the modem.
So...that said - any advice, pitfalls to avoid, and so forth. Thank you in advance for any insight you care to offer.
