Resuming video inconsistent

I've had my Roamio HDR for over a year now. I love it for the most part, but one thing that bugs me is resuming a video where I paused it is very inconsistent. Sometimes I can resume a paused video, other times I have no choice but to start from the beginning. I can't figure out what conditions are causing this to happen. Anyone else have this problem?
