Hi. I have a TivoHD 652160 in which the HDD died. I pulled out the old disk and it wouldn't even spin up when I hooked it up to my PC. So I found an WinMFS image for my model of Tivo and restored it to a 2TB wd20eurx I had bought for this eventuality. Before I imaged the drive I did a extended Smart test to ensure the drive was good. I then restored the image to the drive, and did the mfsadd to expand the partition. I reinstalled the HDD checking that the power supply looked good, which it did, and booted up the Tivo. Everything was fine, and I went through the setup process again and then told it to do the Clear and Delete everything, since the image was from a different Tivo. It's now been running for about 72 hours and is sitting at the "Almost there, just a few more minutes..." screen.
Should I just keep waiting or break down and get the instant cake disc? Would re-imaging, avoid the guided setup and immediately doing the C&DE make any difference? I'm just going a bit crazy at this point.
Thanks for any advice,
Steve Harper
