Hi All,
I'm sorry if this question is in the wrong forum or has been answered before. I have done my research but I need a Tivo/cable veteran to look over what I have come up with so far.
We have had Dish network for ~5 years and it was DirecTV before that. We have NEVER had TWC cable TV in our home (only Internet)! All my infrastructure is home run from the same location (phone, satellite, cable, and electricity).
I currently have TWC for Internet only. The cable leaves their box and enters directly through the wall into my office and my cable modem (adjacent wall). The dish is mounted directly above. It is the old style dish that slaved a 2nd TV off the same DVR box. The splitter from Dish to living room and bedroom is within 2 feet of the TWC box.
I want to drop Dish and subscribe to TWC and order the needed M-Card. At the same time I plan to order a Tivo Roamio Plus and a Mini. The mini would be upstairs in the bedroom with no ethernet (only wireless N). So I would like to setup a moca network (coax already exists from Dish).
I would like to install it myself since TWC $30 install only pays for a single outlet (according to them I'd need two???) and I don't believe the splitters they use would support moca or that they would use POE filters (maybe I'm wrong). I feel like I'm mostly pre-wired and just need some POE filters and new splitters.
The dish wiring is all good RG6 and is ALL within reach to re-wire for TWC. I have a background/education in premise wiring but that was a long time ago.
I know its ugly but here is a quick diagram. Assuming my signal to noise ratio is good should this in theory work? Is this correct? Am I missing something?
Apologies for long post I just wanted to be thorough and concise in my description.
Thanks in advance. Any help is greatly appreciated!
