series 2 network issues

I got myself a TiVo Series 2 Compatible Linksys USB-200M Wired Ethernet and plugged it into my Tivo... connected a ethernet cord into it and then directly into the back of my modem. I went through the settings of Tivo into the use a network connection instead option and tried every setting in the menu but all come up saying error NO2 cannot find a DHCP network.



exactly what do I do to fix this?

the wire is brand new, the connection is secure and my modem shows it is sending information back and forth to the Tivo.
